The contact owned a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the center console armrest suddenly burst into flames. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway and evacuate the vehicle. Within moments, the front end of the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The air bags did deploy. Local emergency services were able to extinguish the flames but did not investigate the cause of the fire. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A fire report was filed. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact transported himself to an area hospital and was treated for a second-degree burn to his left pinky finger. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The contact was informed that the manufacturer intended to send a specialist to inspect the vehicle. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 73,000.
I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT REGARDING AN ACCIDENT INVOLVINGMY 2022 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY, THE REAR WHEELS SUDDENLY LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A WAL. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS NOTIFIED ON 02/13/2026 ABOUT THE RECALL BUT THE RECALL STATUS (REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE) WITH RECALL NUMBER N252536750 STOP DELIVERY- REAR WHEEL LOCKUP. THEN ON 03/12/2026 I RECIEVED AN EMAIL STATING THE RECALL STAUTUS (REMEDY AVAILABLE). ALSO, ON 03/15/2026 I RECIEVED ANOTHER EMAIL WITH A RECALL STATUS (REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE) WITH RECALL NUMBER N252536750 STOP DELIVERY- REAR WHEEL LOCKUP. I HAVE SINCE THEN BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT POSSIBLY DUE TO A TRANSMISSION CONTROL VALVE ISSUE. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT FAILURE DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL, I BELIEVE THE DEFECT DIRECTLY CAUSE THE LOSS OF CONTROL AND RESULTING CRASH. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS INCIDENT BE INVESTIGATED AND THAT GENERAL MOTORS REVIEW RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES RELATED TO THIS DEFECT.
My husband had an accident on 8/10/24 where adverse driver ran a red light at high speeds and struck this vehicle he was while driving impacting front end and both sides of car and airbags failed to deploy! He sustained a permanent disabling injury to his left shoulder.
My 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe diesel unexpectedly lost power while driving. I was stopped, made a right turn, and accelerated to approximately 34–40 mph on a two-way street when the vehicle suddenly shook, shifted into neutral, and the engine shut off without warning. There were no warning lights, dashboard messages, or prior symptoms before the failure. I was driving with two young children secured in car seats at the time. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle became disabled in the roadway, and I had limited control while traffic was present. The vehicle has not yet been diagnosed, and the exact failed component/system is unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The incident has been reported to a dealer or service center, but the problem has not yet been confirmed or reproduced at this time.
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Passenger side A pillar grab handle On Friday August 18, 2023, my wife was attempting to enter the vehicle while holding the grab handle on the A pillar passenger side and using the running board to step up and into the vehicle, the handle she was using to steady herself while climbing up and into the vehice snapped off from its mounting location and she fell from the vehicle. The handle along with the trim piece covering the A pillar came out as a unit in her hand. She could have been seriously injured. These grab handles need to be made of a more sturdy material to prevent these occurances.
The windshield washer fluid pump began smoking and has burnt electrical smell. Fuses for the washer pump did not blow to disconnect power from the pump. The pump continued to receive power after the key/pushbutton was turned off. This is is potential fire hazard while driving. Also a visibility hazard when the washer pump fails. This vehicle is a City of Cripple Creek, CO police vehicle. This failure has now happened on two of our Police Defenders (Tahoes).

The tires seemed to lose their tackiness at 44k miles. With tread life being around 48% they were deemed insufficient and needing replaced by the tire shop during an inspection. A solo accident where the vehicle lost control in wet weather warranted an inspection. The tires had even wear for the most part, but were showing cracking around the sidewall. The tires were only 2 years old and had 44k miles on them. The vehicle and tires were always parked in a garage and/or parking structure out of the sun/elements. With the same brand tires having an 80k mile limited warranty, this shouldn't have been an issue.
Vehicle began making loud knocking sound XXX Towed to dealer 9/8 after holiday. They found metal in the oil and believe it needs an engine replacement. A week later I have no answers, there's no loaners available, so I am just without a car. We bought car from Zimbrick Chevy in [XXX]. It was never disclosed to us that the vehicle had an engine replacement right before we purchased. New engine lasted about 16,000 miles. Only once we saw the history of the car in the current dealership's service app did we learn about the engine replacement. This is beyond unacceptable! The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the engine cranked for 2 minutes and indicated that there was no oil pressure. The engine cranked over after several minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with rod-bearing failure and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The engine was replaced under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer repaired the vehicle. The vehicle engine seized but was able to be driven at a reduced speed. The failure mileage was 45,059.
Car has a parasitic draw and is on its second battery in 3 years. The dealer can’t seem to fix the issue and shows little concern to find the issue. Dangerous to get stranded somewhere or in the cold. It’s erratic when it decides to kill the battery and not safe.
Had a engine failure at 93,000 miles and upon doing a vin report found out it also had a engine put it at 7,800 miles so it now has its third engine in it and also had the high pressure pump fail and the gauge cluster fail and had to be replaced
I am the original owner of my vehicle. It is essentially 4 years old and the evaporator coil has gone out on the vehicle. The evaporator coil goes passed just cooling the car. It affects the defrosting and temperature of the windshield for safety. The dealership is the one too have diagnosed the issue with the vehicle. It requires a complete disassembling of the dashboard on their part in order to repair. The only warning I received was the passenger's side of the car blew cool air, the driver's side blew hot air for a couple of days and then it went out completely. There was housing by the dashboard. When it rained, I could not defrost my windows. I was in a very unsafe situation.
Driving 55mph on highway with cars behind me and vehicle stalls. Almost rear ended. Fuel pump control module failed.
Onstar hardware failure. I have already replaced the onstar module in 2023 due to failure. Now the hardware has failed again. No longer under warranty and GM will not replace.

Excessive wear and tear of the transmission control module may cause a loss of pressure and damage a control valve. This could result in harsh gear changes and cause the rear wheels to lock, increasing the risk of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
