PLASTIC GAS TANK FRACTURED LEAKING FUEL RESULING IN FIRE. *TR
My mother in law was driving on a 5 lane highway and pulled out of a driveway onto the road and was attempting to make a right merge to make a right turn traveling about 10-15 mph as she was engaged in a left hand entry onto road and was about 90% complete in her maneuver and was tboned in driver side fender and door by a 2017 Mercedes’ cls at 60 mph. She was unconscious and pulled from vehicle with unknown but assumed head trauma determined later to be left frontal, right frontal, left temporal expanding hematomas in the brain, fractures of c4-c7 vertebrae, rib fractures L#3-6, #10-12, R#3, sacrum, and pelvis. 250ml R hemothorax, 1250ml L hemothorax, 250 ml hemoperitoneum, laceration of left diaphragm leaflet with herniation of left kidney into chest cavity, contusions of chest, abdomen, R arm, L arm, R leg and L leg. She died as a result of the injuries received in accident less than 24 hours later and never regained consciousness since impact. Cause of death was blunt force trauma due to MVA. She was a restrained driver in 2 vehicle MVA and police reports indicate that none of her air bags deployed upon or after impact. Other driver sustained fractured ankle with all air bags deployed. Vehicle collision occurred in state of Georgia susceptible to high humidity and high ambient temperatures. Bystanders pulled my mother in law from the vehicle as she was unconscious because there was reported fire and smoke from underneath the drivers seat that the bystanders deemed it necessary to extricate her from the vehicle prior to EMS, fire or police arrival. I suspect that the airbags SHOULD have deployed at this severe of g-force and trajectory impact. Ironic NONE of the airbags opened. Maybe she would be alive if at least one opened and did it’s job. Accident occurred on 2/9/22 and vehicle was totaled and donated to local governmental agency for fire rescue training. No other passengers were involved other than 2 drivers. Impact recorded on cctv by nearby business.

AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED WITH ONE OTHER VEHICLE. MY CIVIC WAS HIT ON THE FRONT LEFT DRIVERS SIDE. WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED I HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND THEN THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED HITTING MY CHEST AND NOT SO MUCH MY FACE, RESULTING IN MASSIVE SWELLING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY FACE, A 6CM HEMATOMA ON MY FOREHEAD AND SCALP FROM HITTING THE WINDSHIELD , 2 BLACK EYES AND A FRACTURED WRIST FROM HITTING THE BOTTOM OF STEERING WHEEL. I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON AND SO DID THE PASSENGER. FROM THE SEAT BELT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE, HIS INJURY WAS A PUNCTURED SMALL INTESTINE. *NM
I WAS INVOLVED IN A 3 CAR WRECK, WHERE A LADY GOING APPROX 45-55 MPH HIT MY 2005 HONDA CIVIC WHICH WAS STOPPED AND KNOCKED ME INTO A TRUCK AHEAD OF ME WHICH WAS ALSO STOPPED IT TOTALED MY CAR. BOTH FRONT AND BACK WERE COMPLETELY CRASHED IN AND MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURY. *NM
I WAS TRAVELING 25-30 MPH WHEN A BLAZER PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME, AFTER HITTING THEM...I REALIZED THAT NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED ( I DON'T HAVE AN AIRBAG ON/OFF SWITCH) . THIS WAS ODD BECAUSE WE HIT DIRECTLY IN THE MIDDLE ON THE FRONT OF OUR 2005 HONDA CIVIC (4-DOOR) AND THE TOW MAN SAID THAT THERE WAS A SENOR ON BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE, BUT ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE LOOKED AS IF IT HADN'T BEEN HIT. NOW WHILE SPEAKING WITH THE POLICE MY WIFE WAS ASKED HOW FAST WE WERE TRAVELING AT TIME OF IMPACT AND SHE WAS NOT SURE, ASKING THE OFFICER "HOW FAST DO YOU NEED TO BE TRAVELING TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS? BECAUSE IT MUST NOT HAVE BEEN THAT FAST NEITHER ONE HAD TRIGGERED." THE OFFICER STATED WELL HE WOULD HAVE TO GO CHECK THIS OUT BECAUSE THE ACCIDENT SCENE AND THE HONDA'S DAMAGE HE HAD JUST ASSUMED THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. NOW I HAVE 7 STITCHES ABOVE MY EYE AND BRUISED CHEST AND KNEES, AND MY WIFE HAS A CHIPPED BONE IN HER NECK. I WOULD NOT BE SO UPSET BUT THIS CAR HAD ABOUT 3500 MILES ON IT AND I HAD MADE 3 CARS PAYMENTS, AND EVERYTIME I SEARCH FOR HONDA AND SAFETY FEATURES THE THING I READ THE MOST IS HOW IT HAD A 5 STAR RATING FOR FRONT IMPACT FOR AIRBAGS. I HAVE ALSO READ UP ON THE NEW AIRBAGS WITH THE SETTINGS FOR HOW FAST, SIZE, AND POSITION OF THE PASSENGERS, WHICH IN THIS CASE MY WIFE AND I WERE BOTH LOOKING FORWARD AND BOTH SHE AND I ARE FULL SIZED ADULTS AND I AM NOT SURE OF THE SPEED IN WHICH THESE NEW AIRBAGS FALL UNDER, BUT 25-30 IS STILL ENOUGH SPEED FOR A GOOD IMPACT AND WE HIT RIGHT IN THE FRONT OF OUR VEHICLE...WE ALSO HAD MY 13 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WHO WAS FINE. BUT WITH ALL THIS SAID I DON'T UNDERSTAND WITH EVERYTHING STATED AND WE THE CAR AS FAR AS WE KNOW RIGHT NOW CONSIDERED TOTALED WHY WE ARE HURT MORE BECAUSE THERE WERE NO AIRBAGS TO SAVE US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *JB
LTR FM (TX) RE HIS WIFE NEW HONDA WHICH WAS TOTALED IN A NEAR FATAL ACCIDENT, THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP, HONDA WON'T ASSIST THEM OR RELEASE THE TITLE, CAR WAS PAID FOR. *TS THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. *NM
OUR NEW 2005 HONDA CIVIC HAD BOTH FRONT WHEELS LOCK WHILE MY WIFE WAS GOING TO WORK, DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY IN FORT WORTH TX. THE CAR WAS TOTALED, CRASHING INTO A GUARD RAIL, BLOWING THE AIR BAGS, SPINNING AROUND, STARTING A FIRE AT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL AND STARTING MY WIFE'S COAT ON FIRE AS SHE WAS GETTING OUT. WE HAVE AN EYE WITNESS WHO HAS A DEGREE IN ENGINEERING, PHOTOS, A POLICE REPORT AND THE CAR ITSELF. THE CAR STARTED TO PULL TO THE RIGHT BY ITSELF AND MY WIFE WAS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT IT SINCE THE FRONT WHEELS WERE IN A COMPLETE SKID. THE CAR HAD 2113 MILES ON IT AND EVEN THE POLICE COMMENTED THAT IN HER TWELVE YEARS ON THE FORCE SHE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING SO STRANGE AS THIS. THERE ARE TWO SOLID BLACK LINES THAT SHOW WHERE THE SKID STARTED IN THE CENTER OF THE LANE ENDING AT THE GUARDRAIL. BOTH TIRES ARE TORN UP AND MELTED IN ONE SPOT. THE ROADS WERE DRY, NO TRAFFIC, NOTHING IN THE ROAD. THE TRANSMISSION JUST LOCKED UP SOLID, CAUSING A NEAR FATAL ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED THE HONDA CORPORATION @ 800-999-1009 AND THE DEALER BANKSTON HONDA OF LEWISVILLE TX @ 866-507-6355. HONDA SAID IT WAS AN INSURANCE PROBLEM, BANKSTON REFERRED ME BACK TO HONDA. FINALLY HONDA SAID THEY WOULD COME OUT AND TAKE PICTURES "ONLY" CAR WOULD NOT BE MOVED. THE DAY THEY WERE TO COME OUT AND TAKE PICTURE THEY SAID "DUE TO SAFETY REASONS THE CAR NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO BANKSTON HONDA TO TAKE PICTURES, BREAKING OUR AGREEMENT. WE HID THE CAR AND ARE SEEKING LEGAL MEANS AS OUR INSURANCE IS HAVING TO PAYOUT DUE TO A DEFECT. I HAVE A CASE AT HONDA #[XXX]. THE POLICE REPORT IS FILED IN FORT WORTH TX, LOC.05148069 AND OUR WITNESS SAID SHE WOULD GLADLY TESTIFY WHAT HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE VIN# IS [XXX]. *JS INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Exposure of the aluminium negative terminal to the electrolyte can cause a chemical reaction, leading to material degradation around the electrical connection. This compromises the connection's seal and can cause an electrolyte leakage. This can lead the terminals to crack, rendering the vehicle inoperable due to electrical failure. If the battery remains live, a spark can occur, posing a risk of a vehicle fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
A reduction in the amount of grease in the steering gearbox during use results in dangerously fluctuating torque during steering. This can create a loss of vehicle's control and increases the risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
On wheels without pressed-in hubs made of alloy steel, the tightening torque of the wheel nuts is too low and could cause the nuts to come loose while the vehicle is in motion, resulting in a risk of wheel loss, accident and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Due to a problem during the production process, the vibration of the engine can cause cracks inside the high-pressure fuel pump. This may lead to a fuel leak, increasing the risk of fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Due to a faulty circuit board in the passenger seat weight sensor, the passenger seat’s occupant detection system may identify a Steering Wheel Sensor (SWS) error and the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) warning light could switch on. This can cause a faulty triggering of the airbags, creating a risk of injuries for a child occupying the passenger seat. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The fuel pump impeller's defective molding can cause the impeller to have low density, which can lead to cracking. This can result in the impeller absorbing too much fuel, deforming, and potentially causing the fuel pump to fail. This failure can lead to the engine stalling while driving or failing to start, creating a risk of accidents and injuries to vehicle occupants. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
