Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013 Honda Accord vehicles equipped with a 4-cylinder engine and a continuously-variable transmission. The affected vehicles were originally sold, or ever registered, in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. The driveshaft may corrode and break, due to damage from road salt or other contaminants.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the driveshaft assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 11, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is OM2. This recall expands previous recall number 20V769.

The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

The drive shafts were assembled with a lubricant that may have degraded the drive shafts' protective coating, making it more susceptible to damage from road salt or other contaminants, and potentially cause it to break.
Due to a faulty circuit board in the passenger seat weight sensor, the passenger seat’s occupant detection system may identify a Steering Wheel Sensor (SWS) error and the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) warning light could switch on. This can cause a faulty triggering of the airbags, creating a risk of injuries for a child occupying the passenger seat. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.

WE PURCHASED THE HONDA ACCORD 2013 V6 10/22/2017. STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT WE NOTICED ,THAT NIGHT OF THE 23RD, 2ND TIME DRIVING IT MY SON TURNED THE CORNER AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND HE RAN INTO THE CEMENT POLE AND TOTALED HIS CAR. WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE IT ONE FULL DAY. WE LATER LOOKED UP ON THE INTERNET THAT HONDA WAS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR POWER STEERING LOCKING UP OR ELECTRICAL AND SAW PEOPLE TOTALED THERE CARS OR HAD THE SAME ISSUES 464K CASES. MY SON WAS HURT BUT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. HONDA NEEDS TO BE SUED FOR THIS AND I WANT IN ON IT. THE CAR WAS IN MY NAME I BOUGHT FOR MY 21 YR OLD SON AFTER HIS CAR FLOODED IN HARVEY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE IMMEDIATELY.
ON FRI SEPT 29TH, 2017 I HAD AN SUA (SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION) IN MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD THAT DEVASTATED PART OF AN OFFICE BUILDING AND WRECKED MY CAR. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND BACKED UP, HIT A 3 FOOT HIGH CONCRETE BOLLARD, WAS ANNOYED, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, FELT AN ODD LURCH AS THOUGH THE BUMPER WAS STUCK ON SOMETHING ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND AT THAT MOMENT THE CAR RAPIDLY ACCELERATED TO WHAT FELT LIKE 30 OR 40 MILES AN HOUR. I TRIED TO BRAKE BUT IT FELT AS THOUGH THERE WAS NO PRESSURE UNDER MY FOOT. I GRIPPED THE STEERING WHEEL IN TERROR AND STEERED THE CAR AWAY FROM OTHER PARKED CARS AND INTO A CONCRETE WHEELCHAIR RAMP WITH RAILS AND AN OFFICE BUILDING. THE AIR BAG WENT OFF. THE CONCRETE RAMP AND OFFICE BUILDING STOPPED THE CAR IN ITS TRACKS. I PUT IT IN PARK AND GOT OUT. I'M DOING OK BUT MOSTLY VERY VERY GRATEFUL I DIDN'T HURT OR KILL ANYONE. MINOR AIRBAG BURN ON MY ARM AND A CONTUSION TO MY KNEE. I FEEL THE AIRBAG ONLY CAME OUT A LITTLE AND HIT MY LEFT ARM, NOT THE REST OF MY BODY. BUT I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT THAT. I'M GLAD BECAUSE AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST I'VE SEEN SOME NASTY AIR BAG INJURIES. ALSO I DID NOT HAVE MY SEAT BELT ON BECAUSE I OFTEN PUT IT ON AS I LEAVE A PARKING LOT. I REALIZE EVERYONE IS GOING TO SAY I HAD THE FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR BUT I WAS AT A DEAD STOP WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE TO ACCELERATE AND SERIOUSLY, AFTER ALMOST 40 YEARS OF DRIVING, I HAVE NEVER FELT ANYTHING LIKE THIS TERROR AND LOSS OF CONTROL. THE POLICEMAN WHO CAME TO THE SCENE WOULD TESTIFY TO THE FACT THAT I WAS COMPLETELY SANE AND SOBER AT THE TIME. TODAY, WE HEARD THE CAR WILL BE APPRAISED AS TOTALED. I HAVE DRIVEN AND LOVED MY HONDAS SINCE 1991 BUT NO MORE, AND I WOULD HATE TO THINK THIS CAR WOULD BE FIXED AND RESOLD.
ABS (Automated Breaking System) is impacted and turns on lights on my dashboard failing the following while driving (Forward Collision Warning, Tire Pressure Light, Lane Departure Warning, Anti-skid system) It is avaliable for testing on request. Car does not stop as it is supposed to in urgent breaking due to ABS failure and puts driver and others on risk. My spouse already got in an accident due to this. Yes, after months of system failure on and off, I finally got my car inspected at a independent service center. Honda dealership costs more and are not ready to even look at it without paying, even though this seems to me a problem discussed online in many forums/sites. I called and emailed manufacturer and was turned down by requesting me to go to the Honda dealership repair which charge way more only to inspect only one issue. No other than the independent service center. Yes, there were dashboard lights of the above mentioned lights and I discussed this with Honda service team during my oil change and I was said this is driver assistance and not a safety issue. The root cause diagnosed by independent service center was ABS system.
The contact owned a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving alone, at approximately 15 - 20 MPH, the brake pedal was applied but failed to respond. The vehicle collided with another vehicle in the parking lot and continued on to collide with a vending machine stopping the vehicle. The contact stated that the driver-side air bag was deployed and a broken arm bone injury was sustained. The contact stated that the sole occupant of the vehicle that was struck sustained neck injuries and received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and towed to a lot. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
I was involved in a car accident on 12/12/2. The air bags didn't deploy. They definitely should have. I have pictures of the outside of the vehicle. I can receive police report the insurance currently has the vehicle. We were traveling 70mph and was tboned then ended up sliding out of control and hitting the ground after a 4ft drop off a drainage ditch. Two points of impact the car is totaled and not one airbag deployed.

I WAS IN A PARKING LOT TRYING TO PARK MY CAR IN A SPOT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. AS I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AT A NORMAL PRESSURE, THE CAR JUST STARTED ACCELERATING AND DID NOT STOP. I FIRST SLIGHTLY HIT A CAR WHICH HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I TRIED TO USE THE BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES AND TRIED TO SHIFT GEARS TO MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN WHICH COULD HELP STOP THE CAR. IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL AND IN ORDER TO AVOID A CLIFF, I VEERED TO THE RIGHT AFTER PASSING ABOUT 30 PARKED CARS AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT WITH A TREE ON IT. MY CAR CRASHED INTO A PARKED LEXUS SUV WHICH THEN WAS LIFTED AND MOVED TO THE RIGHT AND HIT ANOTHER PARKED CAR. THE AIR BAGS CAME OUT AND THE CAR STOPPED. MY WIFE AND I AND OTHER PEOPLE COULD HAVE DIED IF THERE WERE ANY PEDESTRIANS IN THE PARKING LOT. WE BOTH HAVE MANY LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AND CANNOT DRIVE DUE TO THOSE FOR A LONG TIME. IN ADDITION WE ARE NOW QUITE FRIGHTENED. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL AND I COULD NOT STOP IT.

DRIVING ON A BUSY S.E. STREET IN WASHINGTON DC, DRIVING ABOUT 20 TO 30 MPH., HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A TIRE BLOWING OUT OR SOME OTHER TYPE OF NOISE EMANATING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS THE BRAKE, BUT INSTEAD THE CAR ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT STOP. IT SPED UP AT LEAST ANOTHER 15 TO 20 MORE MPH, AND AGAIN, WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WERE VEHICLES IN THE BACK, SO I COULD NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR SHUT THE CAR OFF. THERE WERE ALSO VEHICLES ON THE SIDE AND IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO MAKE A DECISION ON HOW TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN WITHOUT HITTING ANY PEDESTRIANS OR ANY OTHER VEHICLES. DECIDED TO TRY AND STOP THE CAR BY HITTING SOMETHING STATIONARY AND RAN INTO A SET OF STEPS THAT BELONGED TO AN OFFICE BUILDING. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND TWO PASSERSBY STOPPED TO ASSIST ME AND MY PASSENGER OUT OF THE CAR. WE WERE BOTH TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL WITH SUBSTANTIAL INJURIES TO THE CHEST, RIB, NECK AND BACK FOR MYSELF AND THE PASSENGER. *TR

I WAS CUT OUT OF THE CAR AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. I HAVE CUTS AND BRUISES BUT I AM OTHERWISE OK. THE AIRBAGS WORKED. WHAT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT ARE THE TIRES. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT GOODYEAR EAGLES. THE BEST GUESS IS THE CAR HYDROPLANED. I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET THESE TIRES TEND TO DO THIS. I CAN'T PROVE IT WAS THE TIRES BUT I WANT TO GO ON RECORD THAT I BELIEVE THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THEY ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON MANY NEW CARS. THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR IS DISTORTED CAUSING THE CARS TO APPEAR FURTHER AWAY THAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE. THERE IS A HORIZONTAL LINE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO THE DISTORTION. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME WITH THIS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT ALSO MAKES ME DIZZY/HAVE DOUBLE VISION AS I LOOK INTO THE MIRROR AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THIS DISTORTION CAUSED ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS CHANGING LANES THINKING THE VEHICLE IN THE LANE LEFT TO ME WAS FURTHER BEHIND ME. BOTH VEHICLES HAD EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND THE DRIVERS INJURIES. ON SEVERAL OTHER OCCASIONS I HAVE VEHICLES BEEPED AT ME WHEN I AM CHANGING LANES BECAUSE THEY ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR IN MY MIRROR. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO HONDA FOR THE REPAIRS AND THE EMPLOYEE WAS AWARE OF THE DISTORTION THE MIRROR CAUSES. IN FACT, ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP I ALMOST HAD ANOTHER CRASH, SOMETHING I TOLD THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE. AS I THINK BACK OF WHEN I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BEFORE PURCHASE, THE SALESPERSON TOOK ME ON A ROAD WHERE THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES PASSING BY US SO THAT I COULD REALIZE THE DISTORTION. I CONTACTED HONDA'S MAIN CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT HONDA DESIGNED THEIR MIRROR THAT WAY SO THAT THE DRIVER HAS A LARGER VIEW OF THE VEHICLES IN THEIR BLIND SPOT. THIS DESIGN IS FLAWED AND CAUSES A DANGEROUS DISTORTION MAKING THE VEHICLES APPEAR FURTHER AWAY AND MAKING THE DRIVER THINK THAT THEY HAVE TIME TO CHANGE LANES.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Honda Accord vehicles. The case for the battery sensor, part of the battery management system, may allow water to get in, potentially causing an electrical short.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the sensor, free of charge. Dealers will perform an interim remedy of applying adhesive to the case to prevent water intrusion. The recall began November 8, 2017. Owners may contact American Honda Customer Support Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is KG0.
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2013 Accord vehicles that are Low-Emission Vehicle (LEV) II rated that were manufactured January 15, 2013, through April 5, 2013. The fuel tank neck may be out of specification causing the fuel pump to not properly seal to the fuel tank.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank, nut and O-ring gasket free of charge. The recall began during August 2013. Honda's recall number is JA9. Owners may contact Honda at 1-310-783-2000.
