Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Ranger, 2006-2012 Fusion, Lincoln Zephyr, Lincoln MKZ, 2006-2011 Mercury Milan, 2007-2010 Ford Edge, and Lincoln MKX vehicles. The driver's side air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver-side airbag inflator or module with an alternate one, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 9, 2021 for the passenger side, and November 14, 2022 for the driver side. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2005-2014 Mustang, 2004-2011 Ranger, 2009-2011 Mercury Milan, 2006 Ford GT, 2008-2012 Fusion, 2007-2010 Edge and Lincoln MKX, and 2009-2010 Lincoln MKZ vehicles. These vehicles may be equipped with a driver or passenger frontal air bag inflator used as a replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver and passenger air bag module, and replace either the module or the inflator, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 17, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S05.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain air bag inflator and/or module replacement service parts that may have been used as part of a collision repair. The parts include certain driver-side air bag inflators and/or modules, designed to fit 2005-2014 Ford Mustang and Mustang GT500. It also includes certain passenger-side air bag inflators and/or modules designed to fit 2005-2014 Ford Mustang, 2010-2012 Lincoln MKZ, 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, 2010-2011 Mercury Milan, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, and 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX vehicles. FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 RANGER TRUCKS BUILT FROM JANUARY 25, 2011, THROUGH APRIL 25, 2011 AT THE TWIN CITIES ASSEMBLY PLANT, AND SERVICE PARTS DISTRIBUTED TO DEALERS FOR CERTAIN 2004 THROUGH 2011 MODEL YEAR RANGER TRUCKS, 2002 THROUGH 2005 MODEL YEAR EXCURSION VEHICLES, AND 2002 THROUGH 2007 MODEL YEAR F-250, F-350, F-450, AND F-550 TRUCKS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS SHIPPED WITH A SUBCOMPONENT (SLIDER) THAT MAY EXPERIENCE DEFORMATION. A MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WITH A DEFORMED SLIDER MAY MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE TURN SIGNAL, TAIL LIGHTS, HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL FLASHERS AND/OR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO ACTIVATE.

THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS ON TOP OF A THREE YEAR OLD CHILD. THE CHILD'S LEGS WERE BROKEN AND HIS SKULL WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER SHOULDERS AND ARMS IN THE PROCESS. THE HENDERSON POLICE DEPARTMENT FILED REPORT NUMBER 09-12668. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS ON ITS OWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 15,000.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL FOR MY TRUCK EARLY IN 2016. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED, THEY TOLD ME THEY DON,T HAVE THE PARTS AND MAY TAKE A WHILE, BUT SAID THE TRUCK WAS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE. IN THE MEAN TIME I CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY TRUCK SINCE IT WAS MY MAIN MODE OF TRANSPORTATION FOR WORK. ONE NIGHT DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE THAT I WAS HIT BY ANOTHER DRIVER, SOMETHING THAT WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF MY CONTROL. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG WERE DEPLOYED. MY PASSENGER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A MINOR CONCUSSION AND STILL SUFFERING FROM MIGRAINES. THIS RECALL HAS BEEN FOR MANY CARS AND THERE ARE MANY OTHERS DRIVING AROUND WITH THEIR AND THEIR PASSENGERS LIVES AT RISK. YOU CAN NOT STOP SOMEONE ELSE HITTING YOU WHILE DRIVING ALONG. THIS IS A BUG ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO GET RESOLVED BEFORE MORE PEOPLE GET HURT OR WORSE. AIRBAGS ARE SUPPOSE TO KEEP US SAFE AND PROTECT US FROM GETTING HURT NOT CAUSING INJURIES.

THERE WAS ANOTHER FORD TRUCK THAT THEY OWNED WHICH DID THE SAME THING, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT TWO BRAND NEW FORD TRUCKS BOTH OF THEM ARE FORD RANGER P/U AND TOLD THEM THAT I WANTED THEM TO LOAN US A CAR AND CHECK OUT THE FORD RANGER THAT WE STILL OWN THE SERVICE LADY SAID THAT ALL THEY WOULD DO IS TAKE A QUICK LOOK AT IT AND BRING IT IN ON A SAT. TAKATA RECALL, IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS SINCE WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO CHECK ON PARTS. THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GET PARTS. MY PERSONAL OPINION, TAKATA SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE IF CAN'T FIX IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS, MY SON RARELY DRIVES HIS TRUCK.

THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION A TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE CONTROL ARM FAILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS IN THE PROCESS OF INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 28,000.

I have waited years to get the air bags repaired. My wife is scared to ride in the truck. Now the electronics have started messing up. Ford should have to pay me back some of what this vehicle cost because of poor quality workmanship.
