MY DAUGHTERS WERE IN A THREE CAR ACCIDENT ON 13 JUNE 2019. THEY WERE REAR ENDED WHICH CAUSED THEM TO HIT ANOTHER CAR IN THE REAR; NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THEY SUFFER FROM NECK PAINS, SHOULDER PAINS, BACK PAINS, AND HEADACHES. WHY INSTALL AIRBAGS IF THE ARE GOING TO BE NO USE DURING AN ACCIDENT?!? I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HYUNDAI!!!

During cold weather, the trunk lid will suddenly fall when reaching into the trunk. The lid does not need to be bumped for it to fall. I believe it can be inspected upon request. Safety at risk when it suddenly falls. My husband had the trunk lid fall on the base of his neck at the top of his spine when the trunk lid suddenly fell. I had the trunk lid fall on top of my head leaving a goose egg bump when loading luggage in the car. No the problem has not been reproduced by the mentioned entities. No the problem hasn’t been inspected by the mentioned entities. No. There were no warnings when the trunk lid suddenly fell.

While driving the vehicle on the freeway it began to slow down and I was no longer able to accelerate. After attempting to pull over, other vehicles began blowing their car horns to let me know something was wrong. Once I came up on the off ramp, the inside of the car began filling with smoke. I had to open the door and jump from the vehicle while it was still in motion. At that moment it became fully engulfed with fire. I have since found out via the internet that a recall has been issued for the vehicle. I have not received any official notice from the car manufacture. The car was a total loss as it was completely destroyed as it burned on the side of the road. My safety was risked as I was driving my car while it was on fire and I had to jump from a moving vehicle to avoid being burned in fire.

I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET WHEN I WENT TO MAKE A STOP. I WAS GOING ABOUT 15-20MPH AND HAD 3 CAR LENGTHS ROOM AHEAD OF ME. I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES TO MAKE A STOP, AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. THE BRAKES ENDED UP SHAKING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL KICKED BACK AT ME. IT SEEMED AS IF ABS KICKED IN PREMATURELY, OR ESC KICKED ON PREMATURELY. MY WHEELS LOCKED UP CAUSING MY CAR TO SLIDE INTO THE CAR AHEAD OF ME. I AM NOT A MECHANIC SO I AM NOT SURE WHICH. I HIT A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A THIRD PARTY DEALERSHIP WHO RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON MY VEHICLE AND SAID WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT MY PRIMARY PRESSURE CENSOR MALFUNCTIONED, AS WELL AS A BRAKE SWITCH ERROR OCCURRED. THE MECHANIC SAID THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE REASON THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED. I TRIED TO CALL HYUNDAI, WHO TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T GET THE VEHICLE IN THE SHOP & TO KEEP DRIVING IT FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS UNTIL I COULD GET IT IN THEIR SHOP. I CALLED HYUNDAI OF AMERICA & THEY KEEP PASSING ME OFF. FINALLY I GOT A HOLD OF A CLAIM PERSON, WHO SAID I NEEDED TO GET CERTAIN PAPERWORK IN WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE INCIDENT IN ORDER FOR THEM TO INVESTIGATE. NOW THAT THE PAPERWORK IS IN, THEY SAY IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 6-8 WEEKS TO MAKE A DECISION (THEY HAVE SAID NOTHING ABOUT INSPECTING THE VEHICLE). I AM NOW TERRIFIED TO DRIVE AND WILL NEVER EVER OWN ANOTHER HYUNDAI AGAIN! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, AND I DO HAVE PROOF FROM A MECHANIC THAT THIS IS NOT MY FAULT. PER THE SERVICE GUYS IN HYUNDAI, THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE (THEY ONLY DRIVE IT FOR 2 MILES) SO THEY WILL NOT BE PUTTING MORE TIME OR MONEY INTO FIGURING IT OUT.

I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON OCTOBER 14, 2013 WHERE I STRUCK A DEER HEAD ON AT 50MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WROTE TO HYUNDAI AND COMPLAINED, AND AFTER THEIR "INVESTIGATION", THEY DETERMINED THAT I WAS NOT ENTITLED TO ANY ASSISTANCE. WELL, TWO NIGHTS AGO, ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2013, I STRUCK AND WENT UNDER A FORD F150 TRUCK. I WAS PINNED IN THE VEHICLE. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY - AGAIN. HOW AM I TO FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE? THEIR "INVESTIGATION" SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE IN WORKING ORDER AND THAT SIMPLY HITTING A DEER WOULD NOT MAKE THEM GO OFF. WELL, THIS TIME I HIT AND WENT UNDER A VEHICLE AND WAS PINNED IN MY VEHICLE AND THEY STILL DIDN'T GO OFF. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN HYUNDAI. THIS WAS MY FIRST NEW CAR. AND IT HAS LASTED ME 1 1/2 YEARS, NOT EVEN. I WAS NOT CITED FOR THE ACCIDENT AS THE OFFICER SAID IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS CONSIDERING TOTALING THE VEHICLE. I AM BEYOND UPSET. I'M OPENING ANOTHER COMPLAINT AGAINST HYUNDAI, MAYBE THEY WILL "GET IT" THIS TIME. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! *TR

I WENT UP WITH TOW TRUCK DRIVER TO DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED CAR BRAND NEW ONLY YEAR OLD, UNDER 11000 MILES ON IT. I DEMANDED A CAR TO USE, I WAS CRYING AT DEALERSHIP. MANUFACTURE TRIED TO SAY IT WAS AN INSURANCE PROBLEM WHICH IT IS NOT, CAR BLEW UP IN MY FACE WHEN I STARTED IT. DEALERSHIP CAME THRU AND HAS LET ME USE A CAR FOR TIME BEING. I AM TRYING TO DEAL WITH MANUFACTURE AND IT IS NOT EASY. I DO NOT WANT CAR BACK AND I WANT THEM TO PAY IT OFF. THEY AGREED TO OUTSIDE INSPECTOR AND NOW I FIND OUT I WILL NOT BE ALOUD REPORT. SO NOW I DEMANDED THAT I HIRE SOMEONE AND WE ALL GO INVESTIGATE CAR AT SAME TIME, THEY AGREED, STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TYPE AIRBAGS THEY USE BUT I HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WENT WRONG AND FOR OTHER PEOPLE. My parked, unoccupied 2013 Hyundai Accent spontaneously caught fire while turned off in my driveway. This vehicle is included in Hyundai Safety Recall 251 (NHTSA Campaign Number 23V651000) for a defective Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module that causes an electrical short circuit and engine compartment fires when parked. The local fire department responded to extinguish the blaze. The vehicle is a total loss. The local Hyundai dealership currently possesses the vehicle and has refused to take responsibility, claiming they "cannot find the issue," despite this being a federally recognized safety hazard. I am filing this complaint to trigger a manufacturer accountability review, as the vehicle caught fire exactly as described in the federal recall notice.

Sunday, while I was sitting in my car I noticed smokes coming from the hood. I then noticed it getting thicker and I saw a flame under the steering wheel. I called the fire department. While I was waiting, the car engulfed into flames and was completely burnt. I wasn’t notified about a recall on the car. I had to find out on my own on 12/14/2024. The incident happened 12/08/2024. I filed a police report and had to get the car towed. I can contact the police department for the report number, I only received a card.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, a pedestrian informed her that the vehicle was on fire. The contact saw smoke coming from under the hood. The contact exited the vehicle and an individual with a tow truck approached her with his fire extinguisher and extinguished the fire coming from under the hood. The vehicle was towed back to her residence, where it caught fire again all throughout the vehicle. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were sustained nor medical attention was needed. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a junkyard. The insurance company had not yet deemed the vehicle destroyed. The contact was relating the failure to an NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) letter she had received. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
