MY FATHER WAS HIT WHILE DRIVING HIS 2013 ROGUE WHILE TURNING LEFT. ONCOMING CAR HIT RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE SO HARD THE BATTERY OF THE ROGUE WAS FOUND TWO BLOCKS AWAY. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. Then a strong abnormal odor was coming the vehicle and it was discovered that there was a fire coming from the driver’s side footwell. The contact merged to the shoulder of the highway and safety exited the vehicle. No injuries were reported. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The police were on the scene and a report was filed. The origin of the fire was unknown. The contact stated that she sustained emotional distress due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure and no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000. The VIN was not provided.
During a rear end accident on the highway when someone slammed on their brakes, I hit them at around 40 mph and slamming on my brakes to prevent it and the airbags did not deploy. The light was on the dashboard after the accident as if they did the deploy, the seatbelt blew out and will no longer retract. The front frame of the vehicle bent inwards at a 90 degrees angle puncturing the AC compressor, though the bumper has minimal damage. MA State Troopers noted that damage and allowed me to drive off since "the vehicle is not over heating or leaking", a body shop then said my car is totaled. My insurance company is investigating why/how the frame obtained extensive damage though the outer body is not as damaged. The vehicle has been parked since the accident and is available for inspection. My safety was at risk with a significant crash and the airbags not deploying, the seatbelt injured me, I am under medical treatment for injuries obtained after this accident. I have a police report, I have an insurance claim, I believe this needs to be further investigated. My vehicle was bought used in 2017 from a Nissan Dealership, it has never been in an accident with me as the owner, but my insurance company found an unreported accident from 2014 which could relate to the airbags not deploying and the frame bending so significantly from a rear end accident.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PASSPORT NISSAN (4725 AUTH PLACE SUITLAND, MD 20746) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT SHE HAD PREVIOUSLY INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE SEAT BELT AND AIR BAG WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED HOWEVER, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT SHOWED NO FAILURE CODES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. TAKATA RECALL. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT ALL WHILE MY 25YR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE ON THE HIGHWAY HOME FROM A CHARITY EVENT. WHEN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, IT CAUSED MY DAUGHTER TO LOSE CONTROL AND HIT THE GUARD RAILS. MY DAUGHTER SUFFERED SEVERE HEAD TRAUMA, BLEEDING AND BRUISES, INJURY TO HER EYE, SCRATCHES AND BURNS FROM WHATEVER THE SUBSTANCE WAS IN THE AIR BAGS. SHE SPENT THE DAY IN THE HOSPITAL WITH NUMEROUS TESTS DONE, HAD SOME SURGICAL PROCEDURES DONE, ON MEDICATIONS. SOME OF HER BRUISES RESULTED IN SWELLINGS AND MORE BRUISES. SHE STILL HAS A LONG WAY TO GO AND IS STILL UNDER THE DOCTORS' CARE. THANK GOD SHE'S ALIVE BUT MY TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS. MY DAUGHTER'S SELF-ESTEEM IS LOW BECAUSE SHE'S HAVING A HARD TIME DEALING WITH THE PAIN, SCARS AND BRUISES. HER SLOW RECOVERY IS STILL AFFECTING HER LOSS FROM WORK AND INCONVENIENCE OF EVEN GETTING TO WORK BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANYHAS DEEMED MY TRUCK A TOTAL LOSS. MY DAUGHTER IS STILL UNDERGOING MORE MEDICAL TREATMENT AND I'M TRYING TO CONCENTRATE ON GETTING WELL AND WORK ABOUT THE MEDICAL BILLS LATER. SHE STILL HAS CONSTANT HEADACHES DAILY BECAUSE OF HER HEAD INJURIES AND NOW LIGHT IS AFFECTING HER WHICH CANNOT BE CONTROLLED EVERYWHERE SHE GOES. AS A MOTHER, I HATE TO SEE MY DAUGHTER IN THIS PAIN EVERY DAY, I FEEL HELPLESS. I WANT MY DAUGHTER TO HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE, BUT SHE'S ALWAYS SAD OR CRYING BECAUSE OF THE PAIN. THIS IS NOT FAIR.

I was in a head on collision going 55-60mph with no airbags deployed. Car started a dripping fire. I have seatbelt lacerations starting from collarbone/neck area cross my chest, breast and right side ribs including deep bruising on lower abdomen and pelvic area. Police would not let me in my car bc air bags could potentially go off at any time but car made it to the tow-yard still without airbags going off. No warning or recalls sent to me since I bought the car in May of 2022.

I am writing to formally notify NHTSA of a serious safety incident involving my 2013 Nissan Rogue. My vehicle experienced an electrical fire while parked in my driveway following heavy snowstorms and road salt exposure. The vehicle was stationary at the time of the incident. My insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss. There were no warning lights or other symptoms prior to this incident. Researching this failure, I discovered NHTSA Safety Recall No. 15V032000, which states that moisture and road salt may reach the driver-side wiring harness connector, causing corrosion and potential electrical short circuits that can result in a vehicle fire. My incident aligns exactly with the circumstances described in this recall. A VIN search on NHTSA indicates no open recalls, however, a plethora of complaints have been filed by owners of this make and model and there is technical documentation confirming that corrosion-related electrical fires have occurred across this model and generation. This fire posed a serious risk of injury or death.
My car was parked in my driveway without being used for almost a day and caught on fire. The fire started in the driver side where the harness supposedly got changed and went up. Thank God the fire department got there when they did my car would have exploded into my house and neighbors house. When calling nissan to aware of problem they took zero accountability. My car had zero issues I took it regularly to get checked and things replaced. So sadden to have lost my car all of a sudden. There was times that my car would turn off for a second and turn back on. Definitely had an electrical shortage which was not fixed by the original recall.
Unknown what failed but my car was set on fire today. Whole dash was completely burnt.
This car went on fire after being parked for over 5 hours.
My 2013 Rogue is having electrical issues and power transmission problems.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.
Rimedio: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The recall began on February 26, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
