There are a few safety issues I've experienced multiple times while driving this car. To the best of my knowledge, there haven't been any warning lamps or indicators on the dash related to these issues. When driving, the car will activate the emergency braking system, braking incredibly hard at freeways speeds and street driving speeds even though there is nothing near or close to the front of the car. The car has braked so intensely that items fly around the car and that both my son and I have experienced back, neck, and shoulder pain from the unexpected/severe braking. The other safety issue I've experienced is the lane departure/keeping sensors going off on the dash and the car pulls itself out of the lane. It seems like the car thinks I've departed the lane and is trying to pull me back into the lane, but, in reality, I am in the lane and the car is pulling itself into the next lane (sometimes even when another car is next to me or approaching). This is a safety concern since it causes swerving and my car could crash into another car or a lane divider if I didn't react so quickly to overpower the automatic lane departure. It's also a recurring issue to have to fight the car to keep it in the lane and makes for very tense driving. The last issue is an electrical one, I believe, related to the infotainment panel. The power on the infotainment system goes off unexpectedly while driving. It sometimes will not power on during start up. If it turns off while driving, sometimes I have to stop, turn off the car, and restart it to get it working again and other times it reboots itself after a minute or a few. All of these issues have happened countless times, as long as I've had the car. I've had it inspected and during the most recent inspection (Sept 2024) they asked me to come in to drive the car so that the issues would be reproduced while the mechanic was sitting in the passenger seat. I was able to reproduce the issues while the mechanic was in the car with me.
When pulling slowly into a parking spot, engaged the brake and the vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing a collision into a brick pillar. Injury to driver occurred.

Vehicle: 2024 Honda CR-V I am reporting a longstanding steering safety concern that existed well before my recent accident. I first reported steering problems to an authorized Honda dealership when my vehicle had approximately 1,155 miles. I reported difficulty with the steering wheel returning to center and the steering grabbing to one side. I subsequently returned to Honda multiple times for steering-related concerns. At approximately 2,121 miles I reported the vehicle pulling left or right on the highway. At approximately 4,910 miles I again reported pulling and a sensation that the steering wheel was pulling by itself. At approximately 5,693 miles I reported that the vehicle would move to the right at highway speed and required constant steering correction. At approximately 15,754 miles, I reported that the steering felt very tight and that two hands were necessary because of the high steering effort. At approximately 25,468 miles, after I reported that the steering was sticking, the steering gearbox/power-steering rack was replaced. I subsequently continued experiencing steering-related issues and returned for additional service. Most recently, at approximately 34,603 miles, I again reported tight steering, pulling to the right and shaking at highway speeds. On September 04, 2026, at approximately 38000 miles, while driving in wet conditions, I was involved in a loss-of-control/hydroplaning accident. During the event I was driving in traffic and following other vehicles, I was maintaining control of my vehicle with both hands on the steering wheel. During the incident, I suddenly noticed that the vehicle began pulling or steering sharply to the right, despite my efforts to maintain the vehicle's direction. As I attempted to correct the vehicle's direction and steer to the left, I experienced significant resistance in the steering, and the steering became unusually difficult to turn to the left. I was unable to regain proper directional control of

On 17 July 2026, I was attempting to park in a handicap parking place at May Washington Hospital Center. The outdoor parking lot is to the right of the hospital entrance and consists of several terraced rows with each terrace a few feet below the one above it. I was halfway into the parking space with my foot on the brake when the car (2024 CRV Hybrid Touring) suddenly accelerated. I pushed the brake pedal but it had no effect. There were no warnings from the safety systems. The front driver side hit a light pole which was the only thing that stopped me from going over the curb completely and dropping down onto the car below. The low speed crash still caused a total loss.

This is the third time this vehicle has experienced wheel lock-up during braking. The first occurrence was over three months ago, while one driver was driving alone. The second occurrence was about one month ago, with a different driver, and a passenger was present who also witnessed the wheels locking; no collision resulted those two times. Both involved the wheels locking during braking and a loss of steering control. On the third occurrence, on June 25, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle ahead braked suddenly. The driver applied the brakes and they initially responded, allowing the driver to slow and avoid hitting the vehicle in front. Immediately afterward, the wheels locked up and the driver lost the ability to steer or maneuver. The anti-lock braking system did not prevent the wheels from locking. Because the vehicle could not be controlled, it was struck from behind by a following vehicle. This defect has now occurred three times over approximately three months, with two different drivers, and has resulted in a collision. It is a recurring, dangerous loss of vehicle control.
