2023 L series II Wagoneer 84,444 miles full bench 2nd and 3rd row - My family was travelling in the car and the second row driver side seat unlatched and forcefully slammed my daughter into the back of the driver seat. No aggressive driving and no warning lights on the dash. The car dinged then slammed my daughter's face into the back of the driver seat. Caused swelling and a black eye on the left side. Also caused a spinal injury on the C2 and C3 joint that we are still getting information on the issue. I am submitting this in hopes that this does not happen to someone else's family like it did mine. My family of 4 and 3 kids that are family friends. The event took place on 6-11 and I am writing this report on 6-12. No inspection has been done on the car due to still being at the hospital consulting a specialist on the spinal issue.

The vehicle accelerated without the pedal being depressed from a fully stopped position. The vehicle struck a tree and was severely damaged and a total loss. The data from the black box could not be retrieved by the local Jeep dealer. Insurance and law enforcement officials did not want to pursue investigation. Vehicle was released to insurance company for salvage so total loss claim could be processed and paid.

NHTSA #11575811
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated while her husband was driving 55 MPH, the front end of the vehicle crashed into a guard rail; however, the air bags failed to deploy. The contact's husband did not sustain any injuries. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle was damaged and the damage was half an inch away from impacting the engine. The vehicle was towed to an auto collision repair center, where it remained. The dealer was notified of the failure. The dealer informed the contact the air bags did not deploy due to the position of the sensors in the front end of the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a third-party technician, who took photos of the damage and read the EDR. The technician then determined that the air bags did not have to deploy. The failure mileage was unknown.

Driving on 129 in hamilton ohio at 6 am I hit debri in the road wrapped in black plastic I didn’t see it until it was too late. It was dark outside.911 operator knew it was there but didn’t have police there with lights on to let drivers know. It was in both lanes on my side of road I hit it and tore up the front end. I still dont know what I hit and haven’t heard back from police others hit it too. This was a rental car I was driving. Is there a way I can get reimbursed for the damages I had to report to my insurance since the police knew it was In the road and didn’t not have anyone marking it?

After very minor accident the car crash symbol and the car in lane symbol came on and will not turn off. Took to dealer and they said there was no update to correct the problem. Feel unsafe in a car that should be safe since it's new. And has error message of limited functionality.

Our vehicle was purchased in December of 2025. Aprox. One month after purchase the vehicle unexpectedly turns off while driving. Fails to start. Along with multiple other issues. Its has been in the shop over the course of that time more than four months and is in the shop current day 14sept2026. We have spend roughly $10,000 to date and continue to be financially and emotionally ravaged. Sealants has been no help. The purchasing dealership also refuses to make it right.

On Monday, August 24th around 7:30am my wife was driving South in our Jeep and had just entered onto the freeway. There was heavy traffic and the early morning sunlight was impairing her vision. To remedy the sunlight issue, she pulled the visor from the plastic dock/restraint and while folding the visor down she proceeded to rotate the visor to a position to shield the light. During the folding and rotating motion, the attachment supporting the metal arm that supported the visor broken inside the roof. When my wife let go of the visor, the visor dropped down about 2 inches and "drooped" at a significant angle, swinging freely. It did not completely pull out and separate from the ceiling but was somehow still prevented from being completely removed from its housing. My wife had to grab the broken visor and restrict it from moving/swinging freely so she could see while operating the vehicle in heavy traffic and sunlight issues. I had to reach over from the passenger side of the vehicle to take the visor from her as to help her continue to drive safely. I managed to push the visor arm back into the ceiling then dock the visor. The visor then stayed in position for the rest of the trip but now she had to drive with the sunlight issue for a little while that still posed, in my opinion a safety issue. This same issue happened in 11/2024 but it was on the passenger side. I believe the support mechanism for the visor was built with either defective or substandard/cheap materials that do not meet the standard for the safe operation of the vehicle. I've come understand that my vehicle (or make/model) is not the only one affected by this. I believe this issue poses a safety risk to all vehicles with this part design or materials used in manufacturing/installation.

There were no warning signs. I was at a red light and my car completely shut off and red steering wheel with an exclamation mark showed on my screen. It would not immediately start as I tried to restart the engine. It took a min to restart. It automatically had thrown my emergency brake on. The a/c was also shut down. I started driving again and when I got to the next stop sign it did the same exact thing. I was a few streets over from my home. I only slowed down through the stop signs in order to get home so that my husband could assess it. When he walked up to my car it was making a strange sound, which eventually stopped. I shut my engine off and restarted it but the alert was still there. I had just come off the highway when this happened doing a speed of 65 then slowing to exit. This scared me. I am calling the dealership in the morning in order to have them pick it up and assess the issue.

Vehicle began to randomly shut off at low speed while moving, while stopped and also in park. Has not yet happened at high speeds. All occasions are at speeds of less than 5 mph, no MIL. Took to the dealership, diag of faulted aux battery. Battery replaced. Still very randomly will die in gear, at low to no speed, and also in park on occasion. Dealership update software of the BCM, PCM, and DCM. Returned to us with the same ongoing dying issue, returned to dealership, they did a wheel alignment, obviously didn't fix the dying issue. This vehicle carries my family, this will cause an accident as other traffic avoiding the vehicle has been the only factor in avoiding accident. No codes present. Vehicle is being refused to drive due to the uncertainty of when and where the vehicle will die randomly. This has happened numerous times over the last month, we will not accept the return of this vehicle until this problem is solved. This has so far ONLY HAPPENED AT LOW SPEED. Dealership has put many highway miles on it without replicating issue. It can be easily replicated by merely driving it from one parking spot to another or around a parking lot stopping and starting and traveling at speeds 5mph or less. This will happen at low to no throttle input. Vehicle will immediately start and run after being placed into park and hitting the start button, this is not the auto -start-stop feature working correctly. Dealership states this has only happened while pulling into a working bay at the dealership, unable to replicate results on the highway. It is currently the low speed dying that is the issue, this has been brought to the attention of the service dept on numerous occasions.

NHTSA #11761526
I purchased my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer new in March 2023. The vehicle has experienced multiple electrical/electronic safety-related failures. Beginning around Oct. 2024, the digital instrument cluster intermittently failed to load after startup, leaving me without critical information including vehicle speed and fuel level. I photographed this occurring numerous times and repeatedly reported it to the dealer. The cluster was eventually replaced in April 2026. The vehicle has also unexpectedly shut off more than once while slowing or coming to a stop at a stop sign or traffic light. In July 2026, the entire right-front exterior lighting system failed. The right headlight, daytime/running light, front turn signal and cornering light are all inoperative while the left side operates normally. The dealer replaced the complete right headlamp assembly in Aug. 2026, but this did not correct the problem. All right-front lighting remains inoperative. The odometer is also continuously flashing. The dealer has not determined the cause and says further diagnosis and Stellantis STAR technical assistance are required. As of Sept. 2026, the lighting failure has persisted for more than a month despite a repair attempt. I am concerned about the safety risks from loss of required exterior lighting/turn-signal function, prior loss of instrument-cluster information, and unexpected vehicle shutoffs. I do not know whether these conditions share the same underlying cause.

The vehicle has not started, on 2 separate occasions. It will not start, let you open the door and, the APP won't work. It is just dead. After a period of time, it will start and work fine. Then it won't start again. I have read there are several instances on your web site of this type of failure. The dealer can't find anything "wrong".

On multiple occasions, when starting the vehicle, the screen on the dashboard remains with the power button and instructions to depress the brake and push button to start. The car starts, but no gauges appear on the dashboard. Turning the car off and back on does not resolve the issue. The car is on and running and will let me shift into gear and drive the car, as demonstrated in multiple videos. Driving the car while a message on how to start the car is concerning as I cannot see/view the speedometer or any other gauges. Additionally, the indicator that the driver’s door is open is on when the door is shut. Turning the vehicle off, exiting and locking does not resolve the issue and the screen remains illuminated with the same message. These issues have been reported to the dealer and each time I have been told they cannot reproduce the issue-most recently in May 2026 when the vehicle was inspected, even when showing them photos and videos.

NHTSA #11758379
Three times my car has suddenly stopped and went into park. It happened once pulling into the median of a roadway. The second time I was slowing in traffic to stop at an upcoming traffic light and the most recent was backing out of a park spot. In addition to the sudden stops while in traffic it also has had hesitancy when starting from a stopped position. I have to restart the car while in traffic. Could seriously cause an accident to happen. Dealer found several CPM codes, completed an update and cleared the codes 2 days ago and now it happened again. Cabin filter, air filter were changed on 7.6.26 and the first time the car did this was a few days after that. So this has been happening for about 1 month.

NHTSA #11757661
Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Wagoneer Series II 4WD VIN: [XXX] I am reporting a significant vibration/shaking condition in my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer. At approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle develops a noticeable shudder/shake that can be felt while driving at highway speeds. The condition is repeatable and raises concerns about the stability and safety of the vehicle during normal interstate/highway driving. I am concerned because other Wagoneer owners have reported similar highway-speed vibration conditions. I would like the cause of this vibration properly identified rather than having it attributed to normal vehicle characteristics. The vehicle should be evaluated for possible tire/wheel road-force variation or runout, suspension components, propeller shaft/driveshaft, CV joints, transfer case/output components, or other driveline components that could produce a speed-related vibration. This vehicle also has a history of having been reacquired by the manufacturer pursuant to applicable state consumer warranty laws or to promote customer satisfaction, according to the CARFAX report I obtained after purchasing the vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and evaluate it along with other complaints involving highway-speed vibration/shaking in Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The vibration occurs at approximately 75 MPH and is repeatable during highway operation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
