WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED IN EXCESS OF 60MPH THE SUSPENSION, TRANSMISSION, DRIVESHAFTS FAILED MULTIPLE TIMES. REQUIRE TOW SERVICED EACH TIME DUE TO COMPLETE POWERFAILURES. VEHICLE LOCKED AND FORCED ME INTO EMERGENCY LANE ON THE NJ TURNPIKE. LANDROVER REPLACED ONLY THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR THE FIRST TIME AND 3 MONTHS LATER THE FAILURE HAPPENED AGAIN , AND THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AGAIN. VEHICLE HAS ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD SPEAKERS,ECU SENSORS, STEERING WHEEL MOTOR, PARKING SENSORS ALL REPLACED IN A 12 MONTH SPAN OF A 2 YEAR LEASE. LANDROVER WILL NOT HELP ME OBTAIN A SAFE REPLACEMENT FOR THE REMAINED OF MY LEASE. *TR
WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE SMOKE APPEARED THROUGH THE CRACKS OF THE DASH BOARD. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED INTO THE OFF POSITION AND WHEN TRYING TO START IT AGAIN, IT DIDN'T TURN, THE IGNITION WAS LOCKED. FLAMES THEN SHOT THROUGH THE CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE RADIO. WITHIN SECONDS THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED AND WITHIN 3 MINUTES IT WAS TOTALED. THANKFULLY I GOT OUT THE CAR IN TIME. *TR

"MY 2004 RANGE ROVER SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT A VERY HIGH SPEED FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE I WAS PARKING CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND PROPERTY. ALSO NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED EVEN THOUGH THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE. I WOULD LIKE TO BE INFORMED OF ANY SUCH ISSUES AND WHAT STEPS WERE TAKEN TO CORRECT THEM. I WAS DRIVING 75 MPH ON HIGHWAY ON JUNE 1ST, 2016 WHEN A LOUD GRINDING NOICE OCCURRED IN THE FRONT END FOLLOWED BY LOSS OF DRIVE TRAIN. CAR ALMOST LOST CONTROL BUT WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. THE CAR WOULD STILL ROLL WHILE IN PARK AND FINALLY HAD TO PUT EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP IT. A PUT IN NEUTRAL WARNING CAME ON IN DASH AND I SHUT THE MOTOR OFF AND LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS WAS A SCARY AND DANGEROUS EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MY OPTIONS ARE AND IF THIS IS A RECALL WHAT CAN I DO AFTER IT HAS FAILED.

I HAVE READ OTHERWISE AND THAT THE ISSUE CAN OCCUR EVEN AFTER INITIAL RECALL WORK DONE.

THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON MY CAR HAS A KNOWN DEFECT WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER LAND ROVER EXTENDED WARRANT PROGRAM Q058. ON MY SPECIFIC CAR, THE WARRANTY PERIOD EXPIRED ON MAY 11, 2015. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED A BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON MY CAR IN FEB 04, 2014 AND TOLD ME ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANT PROGRAM COVERING THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH LAND ROVER MANHATTAN DEALERSHIP BUT WASN'T SUCCESSFUL IN GETTING AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. LAND ROVER IS REFUSING TO COVER THE REPAIR AND I HAVE BEEN TOSSED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE LAND ROVER DEALER AND CORPORATE OFFICE. I THINK LAND ROVER WAITED UNTIL AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED SO THEY CAN AVOID PAYING FOR THE REPAIR.

LAND ROVER IS RECALLING 19,168 MY 2003-2005 RANGE ROVER VEHICLES. THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL COUPLING SLEEVE AND THE PROPELLER SHAFT MAY BE MISALIGNED, RESULTING IN SPLINE WEAR OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. AS THE WEAR BETWEEN THE PROPELLER SHAFT AND THE DIFFERENTIAL SPLINE COUPLING PROGRESSES, NOISE AND VIBRATION ARE EXPECTED.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REVISED DESIGN OF THE PROPELLER SHAFT, THE FLANGE KIT AND HEAT SHIELD KIT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 6, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT LAND ROVER AT 1-800- 637-6837.
