The wrong software for the power steering control module (PSCM) may have been installed. The steering wheel can perform autonomous movements when the driver attempts to steer, as the electric power steering (EPAS) provides unintended steering assistance. Unintended steering assistance may lead to loss of control over the vehicle while driving and thus to an increased risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The incorrect calibration of the power steering control module (PSCM) could lead the steering wheel to oscillate without warning (alternating clockwise/counterclockwise) during steering due to the electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) providing unintended steering assist. This unintended steering assist could lead to loss of vehicle control while driving, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Corrosion of the front seatbelt pretensioner cable may cause it to weaken or break, reducing seatbelt effectiveness and increasing the risk of injury in a crash. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
An unsecured nut may cause the clutch pedal to fail, preventing the driver from changing gear and causing the engine to stall. If the clutch line is lowered, it may melt on hot components and brake fluid may leak and ignite. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
As a result of a polarity error in the secondary digital torque sensor in the steering gear, if the primary steering torque sensor fail, the steering wheel may oscillate when the driver is steering. This can lead to a loss of vehicle control while driving, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED AT MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS SINCE 2017, AND HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN GETTING THE REPAIRS MADE. RECENTLY THE VEHICLE WAS IN A HEAD ON ACCIDENT (IMPACTED THE DRIVERS SIDE OF AN ACURA) WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHILE GOING APPROX 45 MPH, AND THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THIS INCIDENT WHICH IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BY THE RECALL BEING REPAIRED. *DSY - (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND CRASHED INTO A DIRT EMBANKMENT. THE GAS PEDAL HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN STARTED, BUT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORCEFULLY ENOUGH TO REDLINE THE ENGINE AND CAUSE SUBSTANTIAL BODY DAMAGE ON IMPACT. TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC FOUND NO OBVIOUS ISSUES AND NO RECORDED ERROR CODES IN THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE ESTIMATED TO BE TRAVELING 70 MPH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S SON SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND A MINOR HEAD INJURY, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES, BUT REFUSED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONDITION OF THE DRIVER IN THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS). THE 2007 MUSTANG PULLED OUT FROM THE SIDE-STREET IN FRONT OF AN OLDER CHEVY PICKUP AT A TEE INTERSECTION IN A SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD WITH VERY RESTRICTED SIGHT DISTANCE, AND WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY THE PICKUP TRAVELLING AT AROUND 35 MPH. THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE MUSTANG WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED TO THE EXTENT THAT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL/TIRE/SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY WAS RIPPED OFF THE CAR. THE POINT OF IMPACT WAS BETWEEN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL AND THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THE MUSTANG IS A ONE-OWNER CAR WHICH WAS BOUGHT NEW AND WAS SPECIFICALLY PURCHASED WITH SIDE AIRBAGS (AN OPTION ON 2007 MUSTANGS). THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL-MAINTAINED. THE AIRBAG TAB WAS VISIBLE ON THE SEAT SIDE BOLSTER. DESPITE THE SEVERITY OF THE IMPACT, THE SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WE HAVE PHOTOS DOCUMENTING THE POSITIONING OF THE VEHICLES AND THE DAMAGE TO THE MUSTANG, INCLUDING SHOWING THE SIDE AIRBAG TAB AND SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT WITH THE SIDE AIRBAG OBVIOUSLY NOT DEPLOYED. WE BELIEVE THAT THE SIDE AIRBAG WAS DEFECTIVE SINCE IT DID NOT DEPLOY. NOTE: THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG (SUBJECT TO THE TAKATA RECALL BUT NOT YET REPLACED) DID DEPLOY CORRECTLY.
