26V222 Recall. The dealership won’t do my recall. I don’t get why they can’t give me the part and I sign a waiver for it. I’m owed a part for my car.
I have a Lexus rcf 2017. There’s a safety recall for a low pressure fuel pump. This recall has come out years later after the car has been bought. I am the 3rd owner. I bought the car in 2026. I bought the car with aftermarket work done on it, but I didn’t think there would be any recalls. The LPFP has wires hooked up to another fuel pump in the trunk for handling performance. With that said, Lexus didn’t want to do the recall. I asked all 3 numbers I called if I can just be given the part, and I sign a waiver that I get a 1 time item and Lexus has 0 responsibility for me getting it installed somewhere else. They said no and that’s there’s laws. I don’t get the rules. Why does a Lexus technician have to do the recall by law? If Lexus created a defected part, then they had to opportunity the first time to make the part right. Why should I trust a technician to do right the 2nd time around? Also, if it’s for safety, and if it’s from Lexus, why can’t they just give me the part and I sign a 1 time waiver that’s it’s not Lexus problem? Lexus owes me a part, and now instead of caring about my safety, they want to take 550 bucks from me so I can buy the part they defected and go get it installed elsewhere. It’s crazy. Look, I understand that there’s laws… but this is a late recall. It’s not like the recall happened within the first year of ownership. Lexus should be able to give me the part. It’s selfish to not do so. This isn’t about a law…. It’s right vs wrong. It’s a late recall. Lexus owes me a part. They choose not do it. The recall is way late after some people out there have done stuff to their cars by now. This is straight robbery. So Lexus would rather take more money from me, then worry about my safety. A Lexus technician installing it doesn’t make it safer at all. Technicians mess up all of the time (my car wouldn’t start on another service one time) The law saying on it Lexus technicians can do the remedy… why would I trust them the 2nd time around on stuff?
Vehicle does had a hard time starting and now does not start. Research indicates this is a known problem on this vehicle but my vehicle doesn’t seem to be included in the recall The main recall for the Lexus RC200t is due to a failing low-pressure fuel pump, which can cause the engine to stall while driving.
