[XXX] about [XXX] our 2024 Kia EV6 WIND RWD AUTO VIN: [XXX] already serviced in both NHTSA Campaign #: 24V867000 and Campaign #: 24V200000 had a sudden loss of drive power and nearly all control while driving in rush hour traffic at 65MPH on [XXX] between Atwater and Livingston. The confirmed failed ICCU component can be inspected at Modesto Ca Kia. The sudden loss of drive power and control in rush hour highway traffic put me and numerus other rush hour highway drivers at catastrophic risk of multiple crashes, this could happen to anyone with the same car and especially concerning because our car had ALREADY been serviced in the 2 previous NHTSA recalls (see above) for the very issue (ICCU) that impacted our car nearly resulting in a catastrophic outcome. The confirmed failed ICCU component has only been inspected, and confirmed failed by the KIA EV certified technician at the Modesto Ca Kia dealership. Since owning the car [XXX] a yellow 12 volt battery lamp indicator, not a warning light, on the front dash would occasionally be lit randomly while driving or parked. Just moments before the sudden loss of power and control numerus warning lights and messages were appearing and the displays were flashing on and off. We had absolutely no: warning lamps, messages, symptoms, nor any other issue whatsoever with our car prior to this sudden failure while driving on the highway. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
There are alot of electrical malfunctions including unnecessary and without warning emergency breaking that has injured me ( I temporarily have a rental car to recover from a right thoracic sprain, left hip contusion, and a right anterior chest contusion- I have medical documentation), the steering wheel jerking when no correction needed, the vehicle locking up on the tow truck driver, and a lot of different electrical malfunctions that seem to indicate a bigger problem. I have more evidence, but it would not let me submit more pictures.

I leased a 2024 Kia EV6 on 1/27/24. On 2/22/24, twenty-six days after leasing the vehicle and an odometer reading of 616 miles, while on Washington state highway 903 there was a pop sound, the car slowed, and stopped displaying a “Check electric vehicle system” error. Due to the pop sound, we pulled over and barely made it off to the side of the highway before losing forward momentum. If this happened on a crowded freeway, the vehicle could have been disabled in a traffic lane. After 39 days, the dealer's service department found that inverter was "burnt and charred showing evidence of a fire in the system" and that the fire "potentially damaged the rear drive unit".

I was backing out of my driveway and backed into a vehicle parked directly behind me. The collision avoidance and emergency braking system should have stopped my car before impact but it did not. No sounds other than the normal backing up beeping. Proximity alert did not ping. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The safety feature of collision avoidance and emergency breaking did not work. No, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. No, the vehicle component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representative or other. The police were called to the scene, they just looked at the damage on both vehicles. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. They only appeared once on the day of the accident. I can confirm the backup collision avoidance worked after the incident since the emergency breaking stopped my car in a parking lot after the incident of the failure.

Incident took place 1/31/26. I was pulling into my driveway at approximately 5 mph. Normally, as I approach the wooden driveway gate, sensors would begin to beep and I would be prompted to stop. The car normally would stop itself if a collision was imminent. This did not take place. Instead, the car picked up speed, smashed through the gate proceeded up the driveway, smashed through the garage door and the rear wall of the garage. I was alone and uninjured, but the structure was yellow tagged and there was severe damage to the contents. Airbags were not deployed. The car was towed to Caliber body shop in Santa Monica for repairs to the body. When this has been completed it will be taken to Kia of Santa Monica for analysis of the black box and braking system.

When I stopped the car in a parking lot, before I could engage the parking brake, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and climbed over the curb adjacent to the side walk. Stopped for few seconds and again suddently started accelerating. I could not stop the car as the brake appeared to be disenaged completely and was going all the way to the floor. The car went on the side walk, and descended on the road from the side walk and crossed the road, climbed on the curb again and stopped on the grassy area. Side airbag on the driver side inflated and the drive seatbelt tightened.

Brakes failed with unintened acceleration. We were stopped behind a truck at a stoplight when the the vehicle accelerated with a foot on the brake. We had it towed from the scene of the accident to our local dealership for testing. They had the vehicle for 4 weeks. Kia customer care was not responsive to our calls and emails or the dealerships. The dealership could not confirm the cause without their cooperation. The police were called to the scene of the accident and there is a report. The vehicle has been looked over by the service department at our local Kia lot. It was appraised for cost of damages by the collision center.

When washing my car at an automated car wash my brakes failed when exiting the facility. When the wash was completed it gave me the approval to leave. I tapped on the gas pedal to get the car moving slowly. The car started to move down the ramp and when I applied the brakes there was no response. I pumped the brakes several times but they did not engage. I tried to hit the parking brake and shift into reverse and nothing happened. I finally had no choice but to hit a wall to keep from hitting a vehicle. I did contact the dealership and they were non responsive. They indicated they had never heard of a wet brake issue on this vehicle. I provided them with several statements from the EV6 Forum. My vehicle had less than 600 miles on the odometer.
I got into my car in a hurry i put my car in drive as i was closing my driver's door and took off and because the door wasn't fully closed the parking brake engaged itself but the power over comes the parking brake, when i let off the throttle the rear wheels locked up causing the car to slide out of control. I pushed on the throttle again to unlock the rear wheels causing me to swerve in the other lane and almost crash into an incoming car. I tried to turn off the brake and could not without stopping the car so i had to skid out of control again stopping to turn it off.

My 2024 Kia EV6 is experiencing a total failure of the 12V charging system and requires manual jumpstarts to operate. The official ICCU safety recall (SC327) was previously performed, which is why the NHTSA database shows 0 unrepaired recalls for this VIN. However, the manufacturer's remedy has completely failed. Per NHTSA safety guidelines, this vehicle is currently subject to a sudden loss of motive power while driving and is unsafe to operate on public roads.

NHTSA #11751635
Car was totally dead even with a 68% charge. AAA came out to jump start. The next day while driving on the highway the car started to lose power. A red warning to check the electrical system came on along with "turtle mode". I was able to pull over off the highway, grateful the two small children were not with me. Car was towed to dealer who kept it for the three days. Only after repeated calling could I reach someone who said they couldn't reproduce the problem. I'm afraid to drive the car at this point as I feel it's just unsafe to do so. This seems to be an ongoing issue that Kia can't seem to fix.
wheels
NHTSA #11750683
Rear tires on my 2024 Kia EV6 wore down to the tire wear-bar limit (2/32" remaining tread) at approximately 19,500 miles, while the front tires on the same vehicle measured roughly double that remaining tread (4/32") at the same odometer reading. The factory-installed tires are rated by the manufacturer for approximately 50,000 miles of tread life under normal use, so reaching the wear-out point on the rear tires alone at roughly 39% of that rated mileage is well outside expected wear for this vehicle at this mileage. This is not an isolated event: numerous other EV6 owners have independently reported the same front-to-rear wear disparity and premature rear tire wear online, across different driving styles and regions, which points to a vehicle characteristic (front/rear torque split, alignment or camber specification, or suspension geometry) rather than individual driver behavior. Uneven, accelerated rear tire wear reduces traction and increases stopping distance, and raises the risk of hydroplaning, tread separation, or blowout, particularly in wet weather, since the rear tires lose effective grip well before the front tires or before a typical maintenance interval would flag it. The wear was confirmed and documented, including tread-depth measurements at all four corners, by an independent third-party vehicle condition inspection performed at lease return. There were no dashboard warning lights or driver-facing alerts indicating the wear; it was only discovered through physical tread-depth measurement at that inspection. The tires inspection results are available upon request. This appears to reflect a design or specification issue affecting the vehicle's rear tires disproportionately, rather than a manufacturing defect isolated to one tire.

We purchased a certified pre-owned 2024 Kia EV6 GT on 6/5/2026. On 6/6/2026 while driving on city streets, the display screen suddenly displayed a large and flashing red warning message "Stop vehicle and check power supply" in addition to the battery symbol. We took the vehicle to the dealership and they diagnosed that the ICCU had failed and needed to be replaced.

1 allerta Safety Gate cita questo modello· 1 classificate come rischio grave
Kia KIA EV6Serious riskInjuries
The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) can deteriorate over time due to high voltage and temperature variation. As a result, the ICCU may not be able to charge the battery, leading to a gradual discharge and reductions of drive power. If the driver continues to operate the vehicle despite of the warnings, this can lead a complete loss of drive power. This increases the risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
