I was stopped on the highway behind two other cars that were also stopped at a lane merger. A car hit my vehicle from behind and the impact caused my vehicle to hit the car in front of me, and that car to hit the car in front of them. When I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of my vehicle, I noticed that my seat (driver's seat) had reclined backwards. I have lower & mid back pain as a result of the crash. My vehicle is currently at a tow lot where it has been labeled a total loss.

5/27/2016, WE UNKNOWINGLY PURCHASED OUR 2015 FORD EXPLORER. SINCE THEN WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A NUMBER OF ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST MAJOR ISSUE IS EXHAUST FUMES, GASES ENTERING INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AND UPON ACCELERATION. SECOND, 8/25/17, THIS VEHICLE LOST ALL OF ITS FUNCTIONS (BRAKES,STEERING) WHILE I WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON A BUSY STREET WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I HAVE MADE THE DECISION THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE AND IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE STOPPED PUTTING MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT IT IS MAKING US ILL AND I AM SCARED. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED HEADACHES, NAUSEA, LETHARGY, NOSE BLEEDS, STOMACH ISSUES FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME. WE HAVE BEEN ILL MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS SILENTLY AND SLOWLY HURTING US. I AM SO FRIGHTENED OF WHAT IT HAS DONE TO US LONG TERM. IT'S ON A DAILY BASIS THAT WE EXPERIENCE THE STRONG FOUL ODOR AND SMELLS OF EXHAUST FUMES AND GASES ENTERING INTO THE CABIN. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH HOW BADLY IT SMELLS OF EXHAUST. I DO NOT USE THE A/C OR HEATER BECAUSE I AM SO FEARFUL OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO MYSELF OR MY FAMILY WITH THE WINDOWS CLOSED. THIS IS ON A DAILY BASIS. 8/28/17, I CONTACTED FORD. I SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE IN CUSTOMER RELATIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING WE WERE EXPERIENCING WITH THE VEHICLE. THEN WAS TRANSFERRED TO A MANAGER WHO TOOK MY VIN# WHILE MAKING NOTATIONS. IN RETURN I WAS GIVEN A CLAIM # AND TOLD SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY INFORMATION ABOUT MY VEHICLE ONLY THAT THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION BEING CONDUCTED AND, SHE WAS SORRY. TWO MONTHS LATER, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY INFORMATION FROM FORD. SADLY, I'VE HAD TO RESEARCH ON MY OWN AND FOUND ONLY A SERVICE BULLETIN, TSB 14-0130. AS A CONSUMER I AM RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS. THE VEHICLE ITSELF IS PROOF. THE NEXT STEP SHOULD BE A RECALL, NOT ME HAVING TO OBTAIN AN ATTORNEY.

ON THE SEAT BELTS THE MIDDLE ROLE BUCKET SEATS ARE BOTH TEARING WHERE THE AIR BAG IS IN THEM AND THEY ARE ALSO HARD TO LATCH SO THE SEAT BELT CAN'T COME UNDONE UNLESS YOU PUSH THE RED BUTTON. ON THE 'OTHER COMPLAINT' MY HUSBAND AND MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAVE BEEN GETTING HEADACHES EVERY SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND MY DAUGHTER GETS NAUSEATED AND SHE PASSES OUT ASLEEP IN THE CAR BUT IT NEVER CROSSED MY MIND ABOUT MY CAR POSSIBLY LEAKING CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE MY CAR UNTIL THE OTHER DAY WHEN A FRIEND MADE THE COMMENT TO ME ABOUT S RECALL FOR THAT ON MY VEHICLE MAKES MODELS AND YEAR. I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS AND IF MY CAR IS LEAKING CARBON MONOXIDE MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS BEEN BREATHING IT SINCE APRIL OF 2015 WHEN WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AS I HAVE BEEN AND MY 4 YEAR OLD SON AND MY HUSBAND (WHICH HE DOESN'T RIDE/DRIVE IN MY CAR MUCH AT ALL). I TOOK MY CAR THE THE DEALER SO THAT IT CAN BE CHECKED OUT IN SERVICE. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO NOW?

2015 FORD EXPLORER WITH CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE THE CABIN OF OUR VEHICLE MAKING US VERY SICK FOR 2 1/2 YEARS. FORD DEALERSHIP (STERLING FORD OPELOUSAS, LA) HAS BEEN TELLING US ALL OF THAT TIME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR VEHICLE. WE HAD A SMOKE TEST PERFORMED ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM OF OUR VEHICLE AND FOUND 3 EXHAUST LEAKS THAT ARE RELEASING EXHAUST FUMES THAT CONTAIN CARBON MONOXIDE. WE HAVE PROOF! WE ALSO HAVE PROOF OF THE CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE OF OUR VEHICLE! SO FORD OBVIOUSLY HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS ON OUR VEHICLE. ALL OF THIS CARBON MONOXIDE IS THEN ENTERING THE VEHICLE WITH ALL OF THE OVER 80 ENTRY POINTS THAT HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED. PLEASE PUT A PORTABLE HAND HELD CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN YOUR VEHICLE, NOT A HOME DETECTOR! THESE HOME DETECTORS DO NOT REGISTER THE CARBON MONOXIDE IMMEDIATELY. FORD NEEDS TO HAVE TO BUYBACK ALL OF THESE ROLLING GAS CHAMBERS FOR A FULL REFUND TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS FRAUD WHAT FORD IS DOING. THE FORD EXECUTIVES THAT ARE MAKING STATEMENTS THAT THESE VEHICLES ARE SAFE TO DRIVE, NEED TO GO TO JAIL! FORD PLEASE STOP LYING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS ABOUT THESE VERY SERIOUS ISSUES. DO THOSE SAME FORD EXECUTIVES DRIVE A FORD WITH CARBON MONOXIDE IN THEM? THEY NEED TO! WE ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY ON A VEHICLE WE CAN'T EVEN USE! MUCH LESS KILLING US!

FORD NEEDS TO STOP STEALING MONEY FROM EVERYONE WHO IS BUYING THESE VEHICLES AND YOU CAN'T EVEN DRIVE THEM. WE ARE GETTING NOTHING IN RETURN FOR OUR MONEY AND NOW WE CAN'T EVEN GIVE THEM AWAY BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO VALUE! WHAT A CIRCUS THIS HAS BECOME, EVEN WITH ALL OF THE PUBLICITY, FORD IS STILL LYING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. FORD SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH DOING THIS TO PEOPLE! PLEASE RECALL THE 2011-2017 FORD EXPLORER. AS I AM SITTING HERE WATCHING THE WORLD NEWS, I JUST SAW THE NEWS PIECE ABOUT FORD WANTING TRY TO NOW REPAIR THEIR UNSAFE VEHICLES FOR CARBON MONOXIDE. FORD KNOWS THAT THESE VEHICLES CANNOT BE REPAIRED. THESE VEHICLES HAVE A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF ENTRY POINTS, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE DISASSEMBLED. I THEN SEE A COMMERCIAL FOR A LOCAL FORD DEALER ADVERTISING A NEW 2017 FORD EXPLORER FOR SALE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, FORD IS STILL TRYING TO SELL THESE ROLLING GAS CHAMBERS TO UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ENGINEERING ANALYSIS THAT THE NHTSA WAS DOING? WHAT ARE THE RESULTS FROM THOSE FINDINGS? CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS! BUY YOURSELF A LOW LEVEL CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR AND TEST IT YOURSELF! FORD IS SAYING THEY HAVE NO PROOF CARBON MONOXIDE IS ENTERING CIVILIAN FORD EXPLORERS, I HAVE PROOF! (64PPM) THE CARBON MONOXIDE IS ENTERING THE VEHICLE UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS BUT THAT IS WHY IT IS WORSE WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE IS GETTING SO SICK. THE MORE HEAT THE CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS TO DISSIPATE, THE LARGER THE CRACKS BECOME. THE MORE CARBON MONOXIDE AND EXHAUST FUMES ARE ENTERING THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE FROM ALL OF THE ENTRY POINTS. FORD CANNOT STOP THIS PROBLEM WITH JUST SEALING UP A FEW OF THE ENTRY POINTS. STOP LYING TO THE PEOPLE. IT'S TIME FOR FORD TO PAY THE PRICE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE KNOWN ALL ALONG AND HAVE LIED ABOUT TO THEIR INNOCENT CUSTOMERS! FORCE FORD TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES! YOU HAVE THE POWER TO DO IT! WHAT ABOUT THE CONSUMERS, WE HAVE MADE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS, WE CAN'T ALL BE IMAGINING THIS PROBLEM!
