I am concerned that a potentially serious engine/timing-system defect may exist in my 2019 Jaguar XE R-Sport 2.0L Ingenium gasoline engine (64,820 miles). Jaguar Service Action H299 addresses VCT solenoids on certain 2018–2020 XE models, and my VIN falls within the identified VIN range. In August 2026, my vehicle developed a VCT/camshaft-related fault. An independent Jaguar/Land Rover repair facility replaced the camshaft adjuster solenoids, but the problem persisted as indicated by the engine service light. The vehicle then began running noticeably rougher and developed a rattling noise every time the engine is started. The repair facility recommended approximately upper timing-chain-related repairs, which I declined. Jaguar North America referred me to an authorized Jaguar retailer, which has advised me not to drive the vehicle because of the rough running and rattling. The earliest diagnostic appointment is September 21, 2026, and I have been advised repairs could potentially cost approximately 10,000 or more. I request that NHTSA document and investigate whether these VCT/timing-system problems represent a broader safety-related defect in affected Jaguar XE vehicles.

Subject: 2019 Jaguar XE – Recall H535 Did Not Restore Rear Camera Function I own a 2019 Jaguar XE that experienced rear-view camera failure consistent with Recall H535 regarding rear camera wiring issues. My rear camera stopped functioning before recall service, which is why I brought the vehicle to the dealer. After performing the recall repair, the dealer advised that the camera itself may have failed and may require replacement outside the recall remedy. My concern is that the recall-related condition either caused or contributed to the camera failure, and the recall remedy has not restored operation of the rear visibility system. Vehicle Information: * Year/Make/Model: 2019 Jaguar XE * Recall Number: H535 Current Condition: * Rear camera remains inoperative / camera function has not been restored after recall service. * Dealer indicated camera replacement may be needed separately. * I am requesting review of whether the recall remedy adequately addresses failures associated with this defect and whether damage caused by the recall condition is being excluded from repair coverage. NHTSA #11680109
I am the owner of a 2019 Jaguar XE with fewer than 50,000 miles on it. On July 11th, 2025, the check engine light came on, prompting me to drive straight to the Jaguar dealership for diagnostic evaluation. Upon inspection, I was informed that I needed a new timing chain, sprockets, and coolant pump. Shortly after, I became aware of Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #H299NAS2, issued by Jaguar on December 22, 2020. This TSB acknowledged an issue with the Variable Camshaft Timing Solenoids and instructed dealers to perform repairs under warranty by October 31, 2022. A second TSB was issued on March 18, 2020 for "insufficient wear on of Variable Camshaft Timing solenoid bush". Despite multiple service visits to the dealership within this specified timeframe, Jaguar failed to address this issue on my vehicle, resulting in a premature safety defect. This defect has now rendered my vehicle unsafe for operation. In response, I filed a repair assistance claim with Jaguar on July 17th. I diligently followed up on the status of my claim via email on July 22nd, July 29th, August 1st, and August 4th. Each time, I was informed that the claim was still under review, with no estimated timeline provided for the review process. On August 8th, three weeks after submitting my claim, I sent a formal request for an update and requested a loaner vehicle if the review process was to be prolonged. I received no response. I reiterated this request on August 9th, again to no avail. On August 11th, I submitted a third request, which has also gone unanswered.
