My vehicle was involved in a very bad accident and deemed a total loss due to all the front end damage. Serious injuries occurred and none of the air bags deployed.
The vehicle experienced an unintended acceleration in which it unexpectedly increased speed without any input from the driver. At no point was the gas pedal depressed, yet the vehicle accelerated on its own. This sudden and uncommanded movement occurred without warning and was inconsistent with normal vehicle operation, leaving the driver with no intentional control over the acceleration. Following this incident, the manufacturer was contacted; however, despite ongoing attempts to communicate over the past six months, there has been no meaningful correspondence or demonstrated urgency from the manufacturer to investigate or resolve the issue.

On November 17, 2025 at 8:25am, the collision happened while I was parking my vehicle into the parking spot at my work place. Unintended acceleration. On August 8, 2025, Honda C-RV Hybrid 2025 (sport touring) accelerated into a wall without the driver touching the gas pedal. The vehicle is deemed a constructive total loss by the insurance carrier. Since it can’t be driven, we are unable to reproduce the problem. A case is open with Honda since the date of the accident; however, there is no urgency to move the case forward.

While driving to store for errands today, 09May26, I came to a stop at a red light with intent to turn right next. I turned on my right blinker and turned a bit to the right and rolled forward to gain visibility to my left as I came to a complete stop. There was a car coming from the left that was preparing to turn left. I observed that car turn on its left blinker, and slow down while entering its turn. I confirmed the intersection was clear and there was nothing in front of me. I applied the gas, then looked left to confirm the other car was completing its left turn. While I was slowly accelerating, but before my eyes returned to the road ahead of me, the accident avoidance system sounded an audible alarm, I think I recall seeing an orange dash warning, and the system seemed to simultaneously trigger a hard brake apply. This was akin to a panic stop. I knew there was a truck approaching behind me. Although a bit stunned and dazed, I recovered as quickly as I could, and continued to complete my right turn to make sure that vehicle did not collide with me. The hard brake apply was so sudden, my head and body pitched forward (as much as permitted by the seat belt). After returning home, I realized my right shoulder was sore, presumably from the brake apply. I worry that this system could trigger the brakes like this at a much higher speed, in a turn, or with my children driving the car (they are just [XXX] and [XXX] old). I have since reached out to the dealership that I purchased the car from for assistance (LaFontaine Honda in Dearborn, MI). I just bought the car (used) last Friday, 5/1. I am a technical project manager that has supported automotive brake development projects for multiple companies and customers for 26 years. I know how these systems are supposed to work, and this one seems flawed, and potentially dangerous in my opinion. I would be happy to discuss further if NHTSA has questions. On October 5, 2025 my 8 yr old granddaughter moved from the rear passenger side to the rear driver side. The seat belt buckle insertion (female) caused a deep gash on her knee, it cut through the skin, bleeding, pain, and stiffness. I checked the seat belts buckle receiver and there is thin part is that is sharper, It is a flawed design that more pronounced in the backseat because it is deeper in the seat, than the front of the car where adults sit. I contact this agency because I tried my Honda apps and they are for payments and maintenance notifications. .. I have pictures of the cut and seat belt buckle insertion part

This braking issue happened on 4 occasions. While in stop and go traffic I would be braking, nursing the brakes the car would take over and slam me to a complete stop. It would not go again until I hit the gas. On two of those occasions the car behind me had to move into the nxt lane or over to the shoulder. The last time the seatbelt caught me so hard I had shoulder and neck pain for about 3 weeks (I work in rehab so my co workers worked on my neck and shoulders)I did take it to Honda after the first two incidences and they said there was nothing wrong, that’s just how the sensors are. I asked if the sensors could be turned off and they replied No. After the last incident where my shoulder and neck got hurt and the poor guy behind me almost hit the wall on the shoulder, I went the next day and traded it in. I lost my 5K that I put down and the car depreciated by several thousand in 4mos but it was not worth driving it and ending up in a major accident with major injuries to myself or another driver.

The dealer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the seat belt met FMVSS(Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards). The contact had not inspected the vehicle's other seat belts. The contact attempted to reach the manufacturer but had yet to receive a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure was 300.

While I was in my apartment parking garage, I had my automatic trunk door opened. While I was standing in range, the door came down and hit me in the head. As a result I sustained a concussion. I did have the keys in my hand , so I may have accidentally activated the trunk door to close. However, my concern is that there is such sensor to stop the trunk door from continuing to close, or it doesn’t work. I called the dealer and they told me that there is sensor, but it only stops once it’s made contact. I believe this is very dangerous and should be evaluated. As I stated earlier I am now suffering from a concussion.

Due to an incorrect marking, the connecting system may have been fitted to the wrong vehicle. In the event of a rear-end collision, the connecting system can come into contact with the Intelligent Power Unit (IPU). This creates a risk of short-circuit in the high-voltage grid, potentially leading the vehicle to catch fire. Due to improper manufacturing of the belt buckle channel, the front seat belt buckles (driver or passenger side) may not lock properly. This could affect the restraining capacity of the safety-belt and increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The battery cable connecting the battery to the fuse box is not fitted with a fuse. In the event of a collision, the battery cable could be damaged if it is trapped against the vehicle's body.
