I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP (KATHERINE COLE WHO SOLD US THE RUN FLAT TIRES), TWEETED GM. NO ONE AT THIS POINT HAS BEEN THE LEAST BIT INTERESTED IN WHAT I HAD I TO SAY. AFTER MY CRASH, ON AUGUST 11, 2014, I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER ATS OWNERS THAT EXPERIENCE THE SAME EXACT ISSUE..MY DAUGHTER AND I SUFFERED TERRIBLE INJURIES, CRASH AND TOTALED MY CAR. I ALSO AM FINDING THAT THERE MAYBE A TIRE ISSUE BECAUSE OF FAST WEAR AFTER ONLY 7,000 MILES. WHAT, IS GM OR THE TIRE MANUFACTURE OR THESE SAFETY ORG. WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE? I SENT IN A COMPLAINT IN ABOUT MY 2014 CADILLAC ATS CAUSING ME TO HAVE A NEAR FATAL CAR ACCIDENT. GM IS CLAIMING THAT THE TIRES WERE WORN AND SPEED CAUSED THE ACCIDENT, WHICH IS FALSE. MY CAR ONLY HAD 7500 MILES ( CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH ONLY 256 MILES) AND THE TIRES WERE NOT WORN! THE CAR WAS JUST IN FOR SERVICE FOR IT?S PREMIUM CARE LEASE MAINTENANCE, THE SERVICE ADVISOR WOULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT AT TIME! THE SPEED WAS CAUSED FROM THE ACCIDENT. MY DAUGHTERS ABDOMEN WAS INJURED FROM THE SEAT BELT TOO! BETWEEN GM AND MICHELIN TIRES I AM GETTING NO WHERE, THEY ARE POINTING THE FINGER TO EACH OTHER WHEN I VOTED FOR YOU I THOUGHT YOU WOULD FIGHT FOR MICHIGANDERS! HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF I WERE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER. I HAVE BEEN FOUR SURGERIES AND AT LEAST TWO MORE, PLEASE RETHINK YOUR DECISION PLEASE HELP ME. UPDATED 10/9/15 *LN MA 10/29/2015 *CN
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

I MADE A CLAIM WITH GM ESIS DEPT., THEY DENIED MY CLAIM STATING THAT THE TIRES WERE WORN AND SPEED. I HAD NO MORE 5000 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THERE IS NO WAY THE TIRES WERE WORN NOR SPEED. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE LEASE MAINTENANCE PACKAGE THE DEALERSHIP (SUBURBAN CADILLAC) DID TIRE ROTATION AND AT TIME THERE WAS NO MENTATION OF MY TIRE THREAD WEARING DOWN. WHEN I MENTIONED TO SERVICE DEPT ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES THE EXPLANATION I WAS GIVEN IS THAT THE RUN FLAT TIRES ARE LIKE THE BIG WHEEL (CHILD PLASTIC TRICYCLE FROM THE 80'S) TIRES WHEN IT RAINS THAT'S WHY PLUS TIRE ARE LOW PROFILE. I CONTACTED MY STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL (NO HELP), BBB (GOING THROUGH PROCEDURES CURRENTLY), FTC (MADE A COMPLAINT), AND CONTACTED NHTSA(NO HELP AT ALL) TO GET HELP FOR AN INVESTIGATION AND FOR GM. AS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE LACK OF SUPPORT FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO ASSIST CITIZENS LIKE ME. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND OTHER OWNER THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS,BUT I AM THE ONLY PERSON THAT ALMOST DIED. GM IS GIANT COMPANY AND I HAVE NO VOICE FOR THE COMPANIES/ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO ASSIST ME. GM THEY CLAIMED THAT MY TIRES WERE WORN WHEN I PURCHASED MY CAR IT HAD ONLY 2886 MILES AND WHEN I CRASHED I HAD A LITTLE OVER 7,000 MILES, THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MY TIRES TO HAVE BEEN WORN! In August 2026, at approximately 99,639 miles, my 2014 Cadillac ATS was taken to an authorized Cadillac dealership for service. During the inspection, the dealership discovered and diagnosed a leaking right rear axle shaft seal. I was not aware of the leak beforehand and did not receive a warning light or message indicating the condition. The dealership’s written repair order states that the right rear axle shaft seal was leaking and that the right rear axle seal was replaced. The repair was completed at my expense. I have the dealership repair order and invoice documenting the diagnosis, mileage, parts replaced, and repair. After the repair, I researched this issue and found other NHTSA consumer complaints involving rear axle/differential seal leakage on 2014 Cadillac ATS vehicles. I also found GM manufacturer communications addressing rear axle leakage on certain Cadillac ATS vehicles. I am reporting this failure so NHTSA has a record of another rear axle seal leak involving a Cadillac ATS and can determine whether this condition may represent a broader defect or safety trend. I do not know the specific underlying cause of the seal failure and am not asserting that it has been established as the same cause as any other reported vehicle. The failed seal was replaced by the dealership. Documentation of the diagnosis and repair is available upon request.
My 2014 Cadillac ATS experienced a transmission shift cable/linkage failure. After driving normally, I pulled into my garage and moved the shifter to Park. The physical shifter was in Park, but the instrument cluster continued to indicate Drive (D). The vehicle would not recognize Park, the shifter became stuck, and the vehicle would not restart because the transmission was still being detected as being in Drive. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Cadillac dealership for diagnosis. The dealership confirmed that the range selector lever cable had detached from the shift shaft. Their written diagnosis states that the plastic retainers securing the cable failed, causing the shifter to show the wrong drive mode. The dealer recommended replacement of the range selector lever cable. I later learned that this vehicle was previously subject to GM Safety Recall 14179 / NHTSA Recall 14V-338 concerning the automatic transmission shift cable. GM records show the recall was completed in 2014 through inspection; I was informed that no replacement part was installed at that time because none was required. I am reporting this because the vehicle has now experienced a shift cable/linkage detachment that appears similar to the failure condition addressed by that recall. This created a safety concern because the physical shifter position did not correspond with the transmission gear indicated/engaged, and the vehicle could not reliably be placed in Park. The vehicle and failed condition have been inspected and documented by an authorized Cadillac dealership. Dealer documentation and video of the diagnosis are available.
service rear view camera message on randomly and then the camera goes blank. Independent service center diagnostic scan reported: FAULT B127B Rearview camera input signal circuit missing reference (Symptom 2B) - History DTC.
Vehicle transmission shift cable failed. This part is considered recalled, but GM is refusing to fix.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Cadillac ATS. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase of the vehicle. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 83,000. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was 128,555.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac ATS. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the "Power Steering Fault Drive with Care" message was displayed on the instrument panel and the vehicle became difficult to maneuver. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. The contact researched and was became aware of an undisclosed recall; however, the VIN was not included. A dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.
