Vehicle Safety and Functionality Concerns: 1.Steering Issues: Steering remains uncentered and unresponsive despite new tires and alignment at the dealership. Excessive steering margin, particularly dangerous in rainy conditions, leading to steering errors. 2.As the new generation Range Rover Sport in 2020, it has dual exhaust pipes, but only one side works. The dealer just said it was normal, but it is visually estimated that it will cause serious environmental pollution. 3.Lane Keeping Assistance Malfunction: The feature is almost non-functional, failing to keep the vehicle in its lane even under clear weather and road conditions. 4.Self-Closing Door Hazard: Doors lack anti-pinch sensors, causing multiple finger injuries to family members, including a severe incident where a finger was pinched off. This poses a severe safety risk, especially for children.
1. The central control display of the vehicle is often black and the map cannot be viewed while driving, which will cause tension and panic and make driving unsafe; 2. The lane centering of the vehicle often does not work, it cannot work normally, and it directly deviates to other lanes; 3. The automatic closing function of the car door does not have the function of preventing pinching. Several of my friends have already had their fingers pinched by the car door. I tried to communicate with them, but they did not check. You just have to be careful yourself, this has taken its toll on the body multiple times and without any warning lights. All of the above situations have no warning lights, have not been inspected, their manufacturers shirk responsibility, we have email communication details, they let me sue through lawyers, and they will respond accordingly, which makes me unable to understand. They ignore customers' life safety.
The contact owned a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30-35 MPH, another vehicle that was driving at high speeds in the opposite direction had lost control and crashed into her driver's side front and rear doors. The other vehicle then crashed into another vehicle. It resulted in a three-vehicle collision. The air bags deployed and the contact suffered a chemical burn on her left arm from the side air bag deployment. There was smoke that filled the cabin of the vehicle. The contact was unable to unlock the doors while the master door lock button was pushed. EMS and the fire department arrived on the scene and were able to rescue the contact after opening the passenger's side front door. A police report was filed. The contact was transported by ambulance to the hospital and sustained second-degree burns to her left arm and bruising on the right hip and the left shoulder. However, there were no bones fractured. She later suffered from nausea, pain from head to toe, and delayed memory. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
AT APPX 115PM I HAD LUNCH AT THE MILLBURN DINER. I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AT APPX 2PM IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE DINER AT 72 ESSEX STREET IN MILLBURN NJ. I PRESSED THE BUTTON TO START MY CAR. I LOOKED BACK AND SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE IN MOTION. I SLOWLY MOVED BACKWARDS IN THE VEHICLE AND I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN INVOLUNTARY ACCELERATION BACKWARDS AND MY VEHICLE WAS JOLTED BY A TELEPHONE POLE. I BRAKED AND WENT TO PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE TO SHIFT FORWARD AND THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD INVOLUNTARILY WITH SPEED. I INSTINCTIVELY TRIED TO STOP THE CAR WITH THE BRAKES AND BY PRESSING THE PARK BUTTON TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE RAN INTO A METAL RAILING GUARDING AN OUTDOOR DINING AREA. THERE US A 3RD PARTY WITNESS TO THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION.

HIT A CAR THAT PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AT ABOUT 20MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SOS BUTTON DID NOT ACTIVATE. THEN I PUSHED IT MANUALLY AND IT FAILED TO MAKE A CALL UNTIL 20 MINS LATER AFTER THE POLICE ARRIVED. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN THE CITY WHEN LOOKING AT SOME OTHER RANGE ROVERS AT THE COLLISION CENTER IT SEEMED LIKE THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT AS SENSITIVE AS THEY SHOULD BE.
I was driving my vehicle on a California freeway and it stopped at traffic signal that was red. When the light turned green and my vehicle accelerated forward the vehicle system powered down in the middle of traffic. I had the vehicle towed to a local mechanic who identified two potential causes for my vehicle powering down and one of the items referenced was the recalled dc converter. I had the vehicle towed to my local Land Rover dealership and they confirmed that a faulty dc converter was the cause. Land Rover is asking for me to purchase a new dc converter at a cost of $3,000 that is currently under recall and they are unwilling to wave the cost of the repair leaving the vehicle inoperable. I asked the Land Rover dealership to give me a quote to purchase the inoperable vehicle from me and the offered a wholesale price acknowledging that they are unwilling to pay market value because of the recall with no remedy but when a remedy is found they might be willing to purchase at current market value. I suspect the dealerships motive is to purchase my car at a wholesale price, replace the recalled part with another recalled part and sell at a outsized profit will leaving me underwater with a lender.
The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and it was determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced but the failure persisted. No additional repairs were performed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the automatic start-stop system became inoperable. The contact associated the failure with the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
The DC/DC converter went out. While driving [XXX], all the warning lights came on, no abs, no front collision warning and all other safety warnings lights flashed. Immediately after the lights came on vehicle completely shut down while driving leaving me stranded in the street in Greenwood, AR. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership. Land Rover was already aware of the DC/DC converter issue but told me it was the battery which I paid to have replaced. I drove my vehicle home from the dealership. After arriving home my vehicle would not lock. I contacted the dealership and was advised to bring it back in when they had an appt in 3 weeks. I could not drive my vehicle due to not being able to lock it. While driving the vehicle to the dealership to get repaired because it would not lock, my vehicle shut down this time leaving me stuck in a blind spot on a rural highway (55mph speed limit) with no where to pull over due to deep drainage ditches on the shoulder. For two hours I had to wave at vehicles letting them know there was a dangerous hazard in the road (my vehicle) while waiting for the tow truck. My vehicle was again towed to the dealership, 126 miles away. It was at this time I was advised by the service advisor later confirmed by the General Manager, Land Rover had an ongoing problem with the DC/DC converters. My vehicle has been at the dealership since February 9, 2025 because they do not have the DC/DC converter available. The dealership does not provide loaner vehicles. I have since researched the internet and found numerous articles and other complaints regarding the DC/DC converters going out in Land Rover vehicles. The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that within a week of purchasing the vehicle new, there was an abnormally strong odor coming from the vehicle. The dealer picked up the vehicle and performed an engine cleaning; however, the failure recurred within days. The contact stated that the low coolant warning light was frequently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that no issue was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where coolant was added to the vehicle, and the contact had frequently added coolant to the vehicle as needed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where several coolant leaks were found. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to Land Rover Charlotte (6710 E Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28212), where it was diagnosed that the inner coolant had leaked into the engine, and there were metal shavings found in the oil. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that the vehicle was diagnosed after the warranty had expired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V044000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and previously offered several vouchers for the repairs. The failure mileage was unknown.
fuel supply line from fuel tank at the engine is leaking on top of the valve cover causing a fire hazzard. The part is not available from the dealership as they said it is on national backorder this line is not damaged in any way and should not be leaking. This needs to be a recall and not the responibility of the customer. The part number from the dealer is LR140080
48V DCDC converter failed leaving car with no power or option to move safety to the side of the road. Part currently backordered due to a high amount of failures.
While traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle suffered a sudden and total loss of motive power (high-speed stall) without prior symptoms. A "Charging System Fault" message appeared seconds before the engine and all critical electrical systems shut down. This failure occurred in active traffic, resulting in the immediate loss of power steering and electronic braking assistance, creating an imminent collision risk for the occupants and surrounding motorists. Component Failure: The authorized dealer confirmed the failure of the DC-DC Converter (original part LR176476), which regulates the 48V-to-12V charging cycle. The component is currently held by the dealer and available for inspection. The failure caused a secondary total depletion of the 12V battery, rendering the vehicle's safety lighting and hazard signals inoperable. Manufacturer Awareness: The dealer confirmed the original part has been discontinued and superseded by a revised design (Part 433123472) due to known defects. Furthermore, the dealer stated that multiple other vehicles are currently grounded at their location awaiting the same backordered safety component. There is currently no estimated time of arrival for the revised part, leaving the vehicle indefinitely sidelined due to a systemic manufacturing flaw.
Due to the poor underbody shielding on these vehicles, the entire hydraulic system (lines, fitting, pumps, etc) of the Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE) system had severely corroded and must be replaced. If this system fails, you lose your air suspension and makes the car unsafe in turning while driving causing you to lose control over your vehicle. My independent service center quote is for $10,000 (which is cheaper than Land Rover ~$15k). There is an active "suspension sensor failure" that does activate in the car, but this can be bypassed by the driver potentially causing more harm while driving. This issue is consistently the #1 or #2 issues with these Range Rover Sports and other Land Rover vehicles. There is no active recall for this major design flaw and there should be.
Carbon fiber hood peeling. This is a safety hazard while driving. This is a common problem among this car. Referenced: LTB01211NAS3 TECHNICAL BULLETIN This was inspected by the manufacturer and they refuse to fix the issue

Due to brackets connecting the engine-mounted oil cooler lines not being properly screwed into their threads, the oil cooler hose may become loose or detach, causing engine oil to spill onto the road. This creates slippery sections, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries, especially for two-wheeled vehicles. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The rear cradle may have cracks that can cause the rear wheels to partially detach, creating a risk of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The plastic used for the oil filter housing in some petrol and diesel engines can crack over time. This can cause oil leaks onto the engine and road. Leaked oil can ignite upon contact with hot engine parts, increasing the risk of a fire. Moreover, it can also create slippery sections, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries especially for two-wheeled vehicles. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
