IF THE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED I WOULD NOT HAVE SUFFERED THE INJURIES I DID, THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR/MODEL AND I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE FRONTAL AIRBAG SENSOR COMPONENT.
WHEN PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING BY ITSELF. THIS HAD HAPPEN BEFORE ON A DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THIS TIME I COULD NOT GET IT TO STOP. BECAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT THAT ENSUED, I CANT REMEMBER A LOT ABOUT THE ACCIDENT. THE POLICE BELIEVE I HIT THE POST AT 30 TO 50 MPH. BECAUSE OF THE JAGUAR PROPRIETARY INFORMATION SYSTEM" BLACK BOX ", NO ONE CAN READ THE DATA FROM THE CAR BUT JAGUAR. THAT IS KIND OF LIKE LETTING THE FOX GUARD THE HEN HOUSE. ALL WE WANT TO KNOW WAS IF MY FOOT WAS ON THE BREAKS WHICH I BELIEVE WHILE TRYING TO STOP. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A CASE ON SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WITH KNOW WAY TO PROVE IT BECAUSE OF THE INABILITY TO RETRIEVE THE DATA.
I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the complete lack of support I have received from Jaguar Land Rover North America following a devastating incident involving my 2018 Jaguar F-PACE (VIN: [XXX]). In January 2024, while driving my vehicle, it suddenly caught fire. This fire was caused by an issue that was the subject of a recall. My vehicle was scheduled to be serviced for this very recall just days later, but it did not make it to the appointment because it was completely destroyed. The fire department responded to the scene, conducted an investigation, and filed an official report, which I am prepared to provide for your review. After the incident, I reached out to Jaguar Land Rover North America, expecting assistance in addressing a fire that was clearly caused by a known defect. Instead, I was met with outright dismissiveness and disrespect. Executive Judianne Di Leo, in particular, showed a complete lack of concern, scolding me for copying other JLR executives on emails, refusing to help, and failing to direct me to anyone who could. During multiple phone conversations, I explained the severity of the situation, including the fact that I have developed asthma, breathing issues, and severe anxiety attacks as a result of the explosion. On 5/18, I was reversing into a parking spot and my steering rack completely locked to the right, with no warning and while in motion, causing me to strike a parked vehicle. The car had to be towed and dealership mechanic said steering rack had an internal mechanical failure and needs replacement. After doing some research, I found forums of numerous people who have had this same issue. This is a known issue by Jaguar for this particular make model and year and they refuse to issue a recall. I had driven on the highway earlier that day and this could have caused a deadly accident had it happened at that time. This is a real safety hazzard for owners and others on the road.
IN OCTOBER 2018 I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2018 JAGUAR F-PACE. I WAS BACKING INTO THE GARAGE AND NOTICED A BAG LAYING IN MY PATH. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK (I THOUGHT), LEFT THE DRIVER DOOR OPEN, GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND WALKED INTO THE GARAGE TO PICK UP THE BAG. AS I BENT OVER TO PICK UP THE BAG, I HEARD A NOISE AS THE JAGUAR WAS COMING TOWARD ME WHEN THE OPEN DOOR OF THE JAGUAR HOOKED ONTO THE OTHER CAR IN THE GARAGE. I HAD NO ESCAPE PATH BUT THE DOOR STOPPED THE CAR FROM COMING ALL THE WAY TO THE WALL. IF IT HAD NOT, I WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAPPED AGAINST THE BACK WALL OF THE GARAGE. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE DOOR,, FENDER, HOOD, ETC FROM THE IMPACT AND THE OTHER CAR HAD BUMPER AND OTHER DAMAGE. THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE DIAL SHIFTER NOT GOING ALL THE WAY TO PARK, BUT FEELING LIKE IT WAS ENGAGED. I HAD THE DOOR OPEN, THE CAR WAS NEW TO ME, SO THERE WERE DINGS FROM THE CAR, BUT I DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THEM AS "NOT IN PARK" BUT THOUGHT IT WAS JUST BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS OPEN.
I own a 2018 Jaguar E-PACE that recently failed the Virginia state safety inspection due to a problem involving the fuel system/fuel rail. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. The primary symptom was a strong smell of raw gasoline. There were no warning lights or messages on the dashboard. The vehicle was also driving normally, with no noticeable change in performance. The gasoline odor was the only noticeable symptom before the problem was identified. The vehicle failed a Virginia state safety inspection because of the fuel-system/fuel-rail issue. After the failed inspection, I took the vehicle to a separate independent mechanic, who confirmed the problem. This concerns me because a fuel-system failure accompanied by the smell of raw gasoline creates a potential fuel leak and fire hazard. There were no dashboard warnings or changes in how the vehicle drove that would have alerted me to a potentially serious problem. After researching the issue, I learned that Jaguar has an existing recall affecting certain vehicles for a fuel-related defect that appears very similar to the problem my vehicle is experiencing. However, my 2018 Jaguar E-PACE VIN is not included in the affected population and shows no open recall for this issue. I am concerned the existing recall population may not include all affected vehicles. My vehicle's fuel-system/fuel-rail problem was identified by a state safety inspection station and independently confirmed by a separate mechanic, despite my VIN not being included in the existing recall. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has a record of a 2018 Jaguar E-PACE experiencing this type of fuel-system problem outside the current recall population. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether additional vehicles may be affected and whether the existing recall should be expanded.
Engine fuel rail leak and Engine feed line leak. Starting the car has a raw fuel smell inside the cabin of the car. Took the car to jaguar and they said nothing was wrong. Took the car to a jaguar specialty shop and they revealed the fuel rail needed a "recall" similar to the 2017+ Jaguar F-Pace for the fuel rail, and 2 engine feed lines. Safety is put at risk by introducing fuel fumes into the cabin of the car, and leaking fuel with the possibility of detonation. The problem has been inspected by a Jaguar specialist, there aren't any warning lights or indicators outside of the fuel smell in the car. This is the same thing that happened in my 2017 Jaguar F-Pace. Same fuel smell, same issues in the fuel rail and the engine feed lines. This is over 3k in repairs and jaguar is saying there is no issues.

Well seeing how I still turn the vehicle on and it still says power steering failure or loss of power or whatever it is yes. The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2018 Jaguar E-Pace. The contact stated that since the vehicle was purchased, an abnormal fuel odor had been emitting from the vehicle. The contact stated that the abnormal smell persisted. The contact stated that the fuel odor was strong when filling up the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics who diagnosed that fuel was leaking into the engine bay. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted, however, and refused to inspect or diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming excessive fuel and the failure was worsening. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
I am reporting a safety defect on a 2018 Jaguar F Pace involving the failure of factory-installed plastic engine components (specifically [mention parts, e.g., coolant crossover pipes/housing]). These components are prone to cracking and rupturing, which has resulted in multiple severe fluid leaks. Safety Risk: These leaks pose a significant fire hazard as fluids are dripping directly onto high-heat engine surfaces and exhaust components. Furthermore, a sudden failure of these plastic pieces while driving can lead to immediate engine overheating and a total loss of power (stalling), which places the driver and passengers at risk of a high-speed collision. My car started smoking in the middle of the highway. Manufacturer Knowledge: Jaguar Land Rover acknowledged the defect by redesigning these specific parts in 2022. However, they have failed to issue a safety recall for 2018 models equipped with the original, defective components. My vehicle currently requires over $4,000 in repairs to address the damage caused by these failing parts. This issue mirrors previous Jaguar fire-related recalls and suggests that the current recall scope is insufficient to protect the public.
OEM windshield, vehicle has no accidents or damage. Windshield seal failed. Can push the windshield away from the frame and has water intrusion. Unknown how much of the seal and dash electronics are compromised. Safety concern catastrophic failure of a windshield while driving or loss of electronics resulting in loss of driver control. No picture of seal failure available as it requires destructive testing.

I believe my vehicle has a serious safety defect related to the engine cooling system that creates a fire and safety hazard. Specifically, coolant appears to leak from the cooling-elbow near the turbocharger, following a belt failure that lead to engine overheating and elbow pipe burst leading to coolant leaking on to the turbo heatshield or exhaust components. There was serious smoking when the issue happened and i shutdown on the highway as an emergency which most likely would have lead to an engine-bay fire or complete vehicle fire.. This failure mode and fire risk concern mirrors the defect described in NHTSA Recall 23V-221 (Loose or damaged coolant elbow leading to coolant leak on turbo/heatshield, risk of fire) for different JLR vehicles but ignores the F-pace model which I believe faces similar concern. The issue occurred on 9/2/2025 at approximately 9.30 AM while driving from US23 ramp to M-14, the engine suddenly reported charging system fault (but actually the serpentine belt had failed), then in a couple of minutes the engine started overheating and i pulled over for emergency. The coolant started spraying over engine bay from two locations and suddenly observed smoke from engine bay. After getting my car towed back to a workshop, I removed a heat shield and took photos, which clearly show coolant residue near the coolant outlet / elbow hose connection above the turbo. The leak appears to originate at the junction of the coolant elbow — matching the failure mode described in the 23V-221 recall documents. I have not (yet) received any recall notice that covers my vehicle for this issue (checked via NHTSA recall search tool on safercar.gov). Because the leak is directly above the turbo / exhaust manifold heatshield, there is a significant risk of fire, especially once the engine warms up and turbo area gets hot. A fire in the engine bay can quickly spread, endangering vehicle occupants and other road users.

While driving, the engine suddenly shut off without warning. The first incident occurred in May 2025 and stalled twice in late August 2025. Each time I lost motive power and steering/brake assist dropped, I coasted to a safe spot, turned the ignition off and back on, and the vehicle restarted. In May, a shop retrieved P0087 – fuel rail/system pressure too low. They could not reproduce the problem, added DEF, and cleared the code. The issue has recurred. No crash or injuries. The Check Engine light was on in May; no other warnings were noted at the time of the stall. The vehicle is available for inspection and is being towed to a diesel specialist for diagnosis. Suspected area is the fuel delivery system (low rail pressure). Odometer: 47,500.
