2014 FIAT 500L THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. WHERE THE KNEE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITH SUCH FORCE, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED BURNS, CUTS AND BRUISES TO HER KNEES. *MW
DRIVING TO GO HOME, VEHICLE WON'T SHIFT AND UNEXPECTED DIRECTION AND LOSS OF POWER CAUSING VEHICLE AND MYSELF TO COLLIDE WITH LIGHT POLE. VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. GAS PEDAL STUCK AND TRANSMISSION HAD VERY SLOW SELECTIONS. VEHICLE HAD FLASHING CONTROL LIGHTS BEFORE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. MY VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT FROZE UP AND LOSS OF POWER AND DIDN'T SHIFT CORRECTLY CAUSING ACCIDENT. *TR
AFTER ASKING I WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE IS CALLED CABIN PRESSURE. THIS OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS OVER 20MPH THE PRESSURE INTERFERES WITH YOUR ABILITY TO HEAR. GIVES YOU ALMOST A HEADACHE IT HURTS YOUR EARS. IT OCCURS WHEN A WINDOW IS ROLLED DOWN MORE THEN 1 INCH. SOMETIMES YOU CAN STOP IT BY ROLLING DOWN ANOTHER WINDOW BUT SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO ROLL DOWN A 3RD WINDOW TO MAKE IT STOP. IT IS WORSE WHEN THE WINDOW IS ROLLED DOWN 1/4 OF THE WAY OR MORE. *JS
So the dealer fixed the transmission / power train recall in 2020, my car is now doing exactly what the recall states, getting stuck in park, asking me to put engine in neutral and then drive without the car moving, so on and so forth. Fiat, as well as the repair dealer northside imports, is refusing to fix this issue as they state the car is out of warranty, and they feel they fixed the recall. This car only has 73k miles on it. The other issue of complaint is that the wire melted on the blower fan for the ac unit. Smelled burning wires in the car, and both fiat and dealer state that is normal wear and tear. That is not, as it could have caused a fire inside the car, luckily i was able to pull over and put out the smoldering wire. I need this fixed, and fiat is refusing to cover. They stated i need a new power train module and transmission which cost 12k which is 4k higher than the actual value of the car. During this whole time, fiat and the dealership was recommending that i purchase a new car. I want to know how i can get this fixed or the manufacturer to acknowledge they have a safety issue. I also got charged 326 dollars just for them to diagnose the issue. nothing fixed. 326 dollars to plug in a machine for 15 minutes. This is very wrong.

I CONTACTED FIAT CUSTOMER CARE ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND AFTER ALOT OF TALKS THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE TRANSMISSION ERROR BUT NOT THE DAMAGE IT DID I FIXED OTHER REPAIRS SO THE VEHICLE COULD STILL BE DRIVEN. SEPT 15 2017 WHILE DRIVING IN CONGESTED TRAFFIC VEHICLE WAS SMOKING AND SHIFTING ROUGH WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS IF GAS PEDAL WAS NOT FULLY DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR. NOW WE GET THE RECALL NOTICE THAT STATES BASICALY WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DESCRIBING. HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER BEING THAT IT IS FAR AWAY AND HAVE NO OTHER TRANSPORTATION. THE BRAKE JAMMED AND THE ENGINE REVVED .I REPEATEDLY PRESSED ON THE BRAKE AND IT WOULD NOT GO DOWN.IT WAS A VERY SMALL ENCLOSED PARKING LOT AND NOT MUCH SPACE TO MOVE. I HIT THE PARKING BARRIER CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WHERE ELSE TO GO .RADIATOR FLUID POURED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. MY MOTHER WAS WITH ME IN THE CAR AND WITNESSED THIS ACCIDENT. SHE DROVE THE CAR TO A CLOSE AUTO MECHANIC AS I WAS DISTRAUGHT. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. *TR

I own a 2014 Fiat 500L with 60,000 miles. The vehicle is actively suffering from the dangerous safety defect described in Recall T19/17V192000 (engine limits itself to idle speed and zero acceleration from a stop, even when the gas pedal is fully pressed). The local dealer and Fiat corporate refuse to address it because they claim a software update was performed historically. The initial remedy has completely failed, the vehicle is unsafe to drive, and the manufacturer is refusing to fix a recurring safety defect." This is the EXACT known problem in only this year and model, the 2014 fiat 500. It is a known software issue and it needs to be addressed. It is causing me to get stuck at lights and stopping traffic at intersections. Any supposed fix was done over 10 years ago when the car was fine..it was done then only as it was on the recall list, so I thought it had to go in, but I didn't have the acceleration problem at the time. (They may have seen it didn't need the software update and didn't do it) This recall issue was either not resolved or it's back again..I can floor the gas and car doesn't move. I have to put it in neutral a few times from drive to get it to move. It's the exact problem known on this car under recall and only the software reset can fix it. Please help me get it fixed! Thank you. (It's very dangerous for me to be stopping traffic at intersections when I'm stuck at Green lights. This is the exact problem in the exact car the exact year it is known for. This recall is good permanently on this car.)
Will not pass emissions due to sensors not going into "ready" state. We have taken it to 4 different mechanics and we were told that the abs module is not communicating. So we replaced it and still nothing. Now we are told that the PCM is not storing memory. There have been no lights illuminated on the dash this whole time, and no codes to determine the underlying electrical issue. With issues like these the car can stall, get stuck in gear, no Abs could cause a crash and not to mention once again will not pass emissions testing due to these issues. The issues have been confirmed by a mechanic at an independent service center. Again, no warming lights or codes, or pending codes for the issues listed above.
The contact owns a 2014 Fiat 500L. The contact stated that while the vehicle was coming to a stop at an intersection, the vehicle became inoperable while attempting to shift gears, with the message “Gears Unavailable” displayed. The contact attempted to shift gear several times; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the residence. A mobile mechanic arrived at the residence and retrieved DTC: B1011, B1181, and U1736. The contact stated that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V103000 (Power Train), and that the shifter module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE SHIFTING GEAR ISSUE. WENT TO A MECHANIC WHO DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON IT AND THE RESULTS ARE: Transmission Error Messages U0415 and P1CB1 and OBDII Codes ($03) shows the same error message as Transmission P1CB1 Manufacturer Specific. the closest Chrysler Dealership is unable to perform anything on this vehicle as they no longer are licensed for the Fiat Software. Hence, they are unable to inform me if this is covered by Fiat or if this is something that I need to fix out of pocket. Seeing that the 214 Fiat 500L does have a Power Train-Automatic Transmission Control Module and Power Train: Automatic Transmission (moving the transmission shift lever may have a delayed effect or no effect on selecting a transmission gear) = I believe it is covered, but it is not showing as a recall for my VIN #. How do I submit this or where/who can assist is getting this recalled and corrected?
