ON AUGUST 27,2013 I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD SON IN THE BACKSEAT AND WE HEARD A NOISE AND ALL OF THE I DID NOT RUN UP ON THE CURVE. THEY JUST POPPED OUT. LUCKILY MY 5 YEAR OLD DID NOT GET HIT BY THE AIRBAGS. I RECEIVED BURNS ON MY NECK WHERE THE AIRBAGS HIT MY SEATBELT. IN TURN IT BROKE THE DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT AND THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT. I CALLED SUZUKI AND THEY SENT ME A FORM TO SIGN THAT WOULD RELEASE THEM FROM ALL LIABILITIES AND IF I DID NOT SIGN THE WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO CONTACT THEM AND WHEN I REFUSED TO SIGN THE PAPER THEY CLOSED THE CASE AND WILL NOT REOPEN IT UNTIL I SIGN THE LIABILITY WAIVER. SINCE THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED THERE HAVE BEEN THINGS GOING ON WITH MY CAR. IT STEADILY RATTLES, LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING TO FALL OFF. MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOWS MAKES A BUMP NOISE WHEN I ROLL DOWN OR UP THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL AFTER THE DEPLOYMENT. THERE ARE SO MANY LITTLE THINGS ITS HARD TO EXPLAIN. MY STEERING WHEEL IS MAKING A WHINY NOISE WHEN YOU TURN IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS FROM THE AIRBAGS (PROBABLY NOT) BUT NOW I AM SCARED MY STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG WILL POP WHILE I AM DRIVING AND I WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE CHROME PLATING ON THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE STARTED TO PEEL AND CAUSED A PAINFUL BLEEDING CUT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V597000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB TYLER TOYOTA (7201 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505, 850-941-7608) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI XL7. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ABNORMALLY INCREASED AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED SMOKE (NO FLAMES) UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
FAMILY WAS TRAVELING TO TOWN WHEN WE SMELLED SOMETHING THAT SMELLED LIKE WIRES BURNING. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE SMELL DISAPPEARED. UPON LEAVING THE STOP SIGN WE WERE AT, WE TRAVELED ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE & THE DRIVER (MYSELF), STARTED TO SMELL SMOKE. I THEN PULLED OVER TO FURTHER INSPECT THE VEHICLE AT WHICH TIME, I TURNED ON THE OVERHEAD LAMP IN THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS STARTING TO GET DARK, & NOTICED THAT THE WHOLE FRONT DASHBOARD AT THIS POINT, WAS GLOWING RED, ORANGE, & BLUE & THICK BLACK SMOKE WAS BOILING UP ON THE ENTIRE INSIDE WINDSHIELD & THAT THE TRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES BEHIND THE DASHBOARD. I IMMEDIATELY GOT MY CHILDREN (TEENAGERS) OUT OF THE TRUCK & LEANED OVER TO GRAB MY PURSE & SAW THAT THERE WAS BLUE FLAMES DRIPPING DOWN FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD ONTO THE FLOOR WHERE MY FEET HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN JUST SECONDS BEFORE. WE ALL RAN AS FAST & AS FAR AS WE POSSIBLY COULD AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. WITHIN 3 MINUTES OF GETTING SAFELY OUT OF THE TRUCK (BY THE GRACE OF GOD), THE ENTIRE TRUCK WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE TRUCKS WINDOWS HAD AT THIS POINT, ALREADY HAD STARTED BLOWING OUT & SHATTERING & IT WAS SHOOTING HUGE BASKETBALL SIZE FIREBALLS OUT OF THE TOP OF THE TRUCK INTO THE FIELDS THAT WERE BESIDE THE ROAD WE WERE ON. THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD ARRIVED ON THE SCENE AT 4 MINUTES AFTER THE TRUCK HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE, & THE FLAMES WERE NEARLY 30 TO 40 FEET ABOVE THE TRUCK. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AS WELL AS THE FIRE CHIEF, DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND/OR MALFUNCTION WITHIN THE TRUCK ITSELF. I AM JUST VERY THANKFUL TO THE GOOD LORD THAT WE ALL GOT OUT SAFELY. IF, I HAD KEPT DRIVING, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT WE ALL COULD HAVE PASSED OUT FROM SMOKE INHALATION & POSSIBLY LOST OUR LIVES THAT NIGHT. I JUST WANTED OTHERS TO BE AWARE OF THIS VERY SERIOUS SITUATION. *TR
On my Suzuki XL-7, I have 2 recalls: 1. Fuel pump 2. Windshield clamp. I'm trying to find a dealer to repair the recalls? Can you provide to me any Phoenix area dealer that can fix these two recalls? Thanks.
I have this airbag light on problem stated below. It seems it should be a safety recall. Possible solution for Airbag light on Seat Sensor Ok, I'm going to ask a couple of questions and hope that [XXX] or someone with knowledge chimes in. I originally had this problem in my wife's car a couple of months ago, airbag light on, clock flashing after going over a bump with my 240lb ass in the passenger seat. We got home, turned the car off, restarted it and it went through the power-up self test I guess and the fault cleared itself. The other day it started up again, no bump but still had the fat guy in the seat. I noticed that I only saw this issue referring to 2004 model xl7s. I've looked and haven't seen 2003s, or 2005s. The TSB for this issue ONLY refers to 2004 models and says that this is the updated part number 86605-53JA1. If you look at this site that has them in stock: [XXX] It says that part fits 2004-2006. I found the published date for the TSB somewhere online as 12/2004 so they apparently knew the problem early, made an update/change and moved on. Probably changing the design sometime mid-year 04? I don't like the idea of spending $1400 for a part. So, I checked [XXX] and found a nice passenger seat from a 2005 locally for about $75 in a boneyard. Does anyone have any advice why swapping in a 2005 seat (or just the base if the color is wrong, whatever) is a bad idea? Does anyone know if there has to be any special dealer magic/ calibration/ etc done if I put this in myself? I haven't yet had the time to pull the seat out of the car, flip it over and check things out. But I'm not super hopeful that I can fix whatever this sensor is since nobody else has posted anything in the last 13 years. Thanks for your interest. The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki XL7. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer after she discovered that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V597000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that after the vehicle was retrieved from the dealer and the recall was presumably completed, the vehicle was driven to the residence and parked. The contact then stated on the same day while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal fuel odor throughout the cabin of the vehicle before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact then notified the dealer of the failure, but the contact was denied service. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the crank shaft position sensor was faulty. The contact stated that she previously had the vehicle diagnosed by a different independent mechanic and was informed that the engine was not getting fuel when the vehicle was started. The contact was informed that the fuel pump module assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the recall was completed, and further repairs would be at the expense of the owner. The failure mileage was approximately 215,000.
Heating Cooling system stopped working. Can not change from heat to cool or from vent to floor to defrost Mechanics can not find issue
The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki XL7. The contact stated while approaching the vehicle, the contact became aware of gasoline fumes outside of the vehicle. Additionally, while attempting to start the vehicle, several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure was with the pressure line attached to the fuel pump which leaked and cracked. The mechanic installed a seal into the crack of the fuel pump to temporarily repair the failure. The mechanic recommended that the fuel pump be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 194,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 223,000.
WATER APPEARS TO BE LEAKING FROM AREA AROUND THE SUNROOF. WHEN IT RAINS HEAVILY OR IF I WERE TO GO THROUGH AN AUTOMATED CARWASH WATER POURS IN FROM AROUND THE SUNROOF AREAS INTO THE CAR CABIN FROM THE CEILING, THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND BEING DRIVEN.
THERE'S A RECALL FOR FUEL LEAKS AT FUEL PUMP (LINES CRACK). WAS INFORMED RECALL HAD BEEN PREFORMED ALREADY. SO I GUESS THEY USED ANOTHER FAULTY FUEL PUMP. SO WHAT CAN I DO NOW? JUST GOT THE CAR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO. AND COULD SMELL GAS. UNKNOWN EXACTLY WHEN IT HAPPENED.

American Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2007 XL-7 vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas; and manufactured June 13, 2006, through December 22, 2006. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the plastic supply or return port on the fuel pump module may crack, which could cause a fuel leak.
Remedy: American Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed on March 7, 2013. Owners may contact American Suzuki Customer Relations at 1-800-934-0934.
CERTAIN VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 212, "WINDSHIELD MOUNTING." AN INCORRECT PRIMER MAY HAVE BEEN USED WHEN INSTALLING THE WINDSHIELD.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE ANY GLASS (WINDSHIELD, LIFTGATE GLASS, OR THE SIDE STATIONARY GLASS) THAT WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY.THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 10, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-934-0934.
