Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2021 NV200 Van, 2014-2017, 2019 NV200 Taxi, and 2015-2018 Chevrolet City Express vehicles. The Fuel Tank Temperature (FTT) sensor harness may have been incorrectly routed, damaging wires and causing a short circuit in the fuel pump fuse.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and reroute the FTT sensor harness or replace the fuel pump assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 2, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA56. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov October 10, 2025.
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.
Remedy: Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

On 9/25/25 I was driving through a green light in Baltimore MD. The streets were grand view and w cold spring lane . A driver ran the red light from my left side and hit me so hard he totaled my 2014 NV200 cab edition. The air bag did not deploy , instead it shot out steering like like missle and hit me in face causing a concussion that led to overnight hospitalization to get cat scan and MRI.. the airbag also cause a permanent burn on right knuckle and lacerations, and damage to my neck from whip lash reacting to being hit unexpectedly by first car then air bag projectile. The air bag hitting me face caused more damage to my body than actual accident which caused severe lower back pain and injuries to my hand and left lingering nerve pain to left and ride side of body. The impact was so hard my nose also bled the next day and I had migraines and blurry vision for next week. I could not work for next 5 days on doctor note because of concussion. I lost income I have medical bills and I lost my van I use for my delivery business which generated 2,000 a month income. The air bag deployment malfunction was recalled in this exact model in 2016 by Takata air bag contracted with Nissan at time. I bought van in March 2024 from checker cab company in Long Island New York. I was not aware of any recalls being done and was not informed or given paperwork about potential dangerous air bag. There was no warning lights on regarding air bags deficiencies. The vehicle was inspected by opposing party insurance. Farmers insurance and deemed totaled. It was towed to bill Elliott 5900 York Rd.
TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, TRAFFIC SLOWED. AS TRAFFIC WAS SLOWING AND I WAS BRAKING TRAFFIC CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. I WAS MAINTAINING MY NORMAL FOLLOWING DISTANCE, YET THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO TAKE A LONGER DISTANCE THAN NORMAL TO STOP. I IMPACTED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME HARD ENOUGH TO BEND THE FRAME, YET THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan NV200. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown air bag recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred a week later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the technician who performed the recall repair was on vacation. Additionally, the contact was informed that there would be a charge for a diagnostic test to determine the cause of the failure. The contact declined to pay for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
The Nissan NV 200 heaters stop working. We now have 3 NV 200's (2 model year 2014 and 1 model year 2020) with non-working heaters. The blower works, but only blows cool air. When the windshields fog up, they cannot be defrosted. This has become a significant safety issue being that these vehicles are driven in Cleveland, OH. Repair facilities have not been able to fix the problem.
My passenger airbag light has been on ever since I've owned this vehicle starting January of 2019. I see there has been an open recall on this since May of 2016, which means it hasn't been solved in over 5 years. I feel less comfortable about driving my partner around in my van knowing her airbag may not go off in the event of an accident.

REAR AIR CONDITIONER WILL NOT COOL, EVEN WITH WARRANTY WORK, NISSAN NEVER FIXED IT. THIS IS A PERVASIVE PROBLEM WITH MOST VANS OF THIS MODEL.
THE REAR AC BLOWER MOTOR DIED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THIS PASSENGER VEHICLE IS THE ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MY FAMILY WITH 7 SMALL CHILDREN RANGING IN AGE FROM 10 MONTHS TO 11 YEARS OLD. YESTERDAY AND TODAY, THE TEMPERATURE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE HAS REACHED 104 DEGREES INSIDE (86 DEGREES OUTSIDE) WHILE THE AC IS RUNNING ON ITS HIGHEST SETTING IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN. THEIR AUTO TECH SAID EVERYONE WHO PURCHASES THIS VEHICLE COMES BACK WITHIN A COUPLE OF YEARS TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE RECOMMENDED THAT I CONTACT YOU TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL UNLESS THEY ARE DIRECTED TO DO SO BY YOU. PLEASE HELP FAMILIES LIKE MINE. HOT VEHICLES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN. PLEASE DO NOT LET SOMEONE LOSE A CHILD BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PART THAT NISSAN AND THE NHTSA KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO RECALL. *TR
LITTLE TO NO AIR COMING OUT OF THE REAR AIR VENTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR DUE TO THE NUMBER OF RECALLS HE FOUND. THE CONTACT CALLED KINGS NISSAN (2758 CONEY ISLAND AVE, BROOKLYN, NY 11235, (718) 934-3300) AND VOICED HIS CONCERNS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND ASSIGNED A SPECIALIST TO CALL THE CONTACT BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE MY AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUED TO FLASH. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED THEM OF THE ISSUE AND THEY SATED THEY NEEDED TO RUN DIAGNOTICS. AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK THE DEALER STATED IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED TO THE VEHICLE TO COMPLY WITH THE AIR BAG STANDARD. I WAS CHARGED 130.00 USD TO BE TOLD THERE ITEMS NEEDED AN UPDATE.
THE AIR CONDITIONING FOR THIS PASSENGER VAN IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO KEEP REAR PASSENGERS AT A SAFE TEMPERATURE. THERE IS AN OPEN CASE WITH NISSAN, BUT NO REPAIR HAS BEEN FOUND AT THIS TIME. THESE VEHICLES ARE NOT SAFE FOR TRANSPORT PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. SEE ATTACHED IMAGE OF FRONT (INDOOR) AND REAR (OUTDOOR) SEAT TEMPERATURES AFTER OPERATING THE A/C SYSTEM FOR 20-30 MINUTES ON HIGH.
OCS RECALL 5/23/16, PARTS TO RESOLVE STILL NOT AVAILABLE....
VEHICLE PURCHASED 08/31/2015. WITHIN 1 MONTH OF PURCHASE, ON A BUSINESS TRIP, POWER STEERING STARTED TO MAKE NOISE DURING TURNS. I FOUND THE STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR LOW AND A LEAK UNDER THE VEHICLE. PURCHASED AND TOPPED OFF FLUID, NOTIFIED SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT NISSAN SAN LEANDRO. I WAS TOLD TO KEEP THE FLUID TOPPED OFF AND TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AS SOON AS I RETURNED. THE PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BAD CONNECTION ON A POWER STEERING LINE DUE TO "A ROBOT NOT TIGHTENING THE FITTING ALL THE WAY".
