ON MARCH 25, 2006 MY FAMILY WAS ON I-75 IN OUR 2003 DISCOVERY SE. WE WERE IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND A PERSON SEVERAL CARS AHEAD MADE A SUDDEN LANE CHANGE CUTTING OFF A DRIVER AHEAD OF IN OUR LANE. HE BRAKES SUDDENLY. THE TRUCK FOLLOWING STRUCK HIM. I WAS ALREADY SLOWING DOWN DUE TO THE HEAVY TRAFFIC. HOWEVER, I STRUCK THE TRUCK. IT WAS NOT A HEAVY COLLISION AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, I WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY AN 18 WHEELER. UPON IMPACT, MY DISCOVERY BURST INTO FLAMES IN THE BACK. THE IMPACT AGAIN DROVE MY VEHICLE IN TO THE TRUCK AHEAD. THIS TIME IT WAS A VERY HEAVY IMPACT (THE HOOD CRUMPLED AND THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED) BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WE JUST BARELY GOT OUT (I HAD 2ND DEGREE BURNS TO SIDE OF FACE AND HAND) I AM CONCERNED THAT 1.) THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT LEAST THE SECOND TIME AND 2.) THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES ON IMPACT. *JB
HELLO- I AM NOT POSITIVE IF THIS IS THE EXACT LOCATION TO BE SENDING THIS. I AM A WITNESS TO A DEFECT OR A MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING A 5 MONTH OLD 2006 LAND ROVER LR3. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO, MY CAR'S BRAKES LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING AROUND 68 MPH. THIS CAUSED ME TO SKID TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE HIGHWAY. HOWEVER, WHILE COMING TO A STOP MY SEAT BELT DID NOT ENGAGE, CAUSING ME TO HIT MY HEAD AND TEAR MUSCLES IN MY BACK, WHICH I HAD CHECKED OUT AT THE DOCTOR. AFTER THIS HAPPENED, I WAS STILL AT A COMPLETE STOP ON THE HIGHWAY NOT ALLOWING ME TO DRIVE OR MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FROM ON COMING TRAFFIC. AS THE STATE TROOPER PHRASED IT, YOU ARE VERY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND NOT INJURED. AFTER CONTACTING LAND ROVER ALONG WITH THE DEALER, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE ANYTHING. I AM VERY WORRIED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. I ALSO HAVE WITNESSED, ITEMS ON THE CAR WHICH I FEEL NEED TO HAVE A RECALL ON BECAUSE OF THE FACT THE SAME HAS HAPPENED TO THE LOANER CARS AS WELL. STATED BELOW ARE THE AREAS THAT NEED TO BE LOOKED AT WHICH LAND ROVER IS OVER LOOKING OR WILL NOT GIVE US ANY INFORMATION ON. - DRIVERS SIDE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR, WILL NOT LOCK ALONG WITH THE OTHER DOORS AFTER USING THE REMOTE LOCK. HOWEVER, IF OPENED THE ALARM WILL SOUND. - RADIO- KEEPS OVER HEATING, IN WHICH THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MINE THREE TIMES OVER THE 5 MONTH PERIOD OF OWNERSHIP. - SEAT BELTS NOT ENGAGING. I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE AFTER THIS INCIDENT THAT THE SEAT BELTS WILL ENGAGED AT ALL IF A CRASH WERE TO TAKE PLACE. ALONG WITH OTHER ISSUES. PLEASE CONTACT BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU. *NM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED OUT OF PARK, THE SIDE MIRRORS FAILED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (JAGUAR LAND ROVER SEATTLE, 19910 POPLAR WAY, LYNNWOOD, WA 98036) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC HEATED WINDSHIELD HAD AN INTERNAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,581.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE RISING FROM THE VEHICLE. HE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHERE THE SMOKE ORIGINATED, HOWEVER, HE NOTICED FLAMES UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED AFTER TEN MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A CHIPMUNK LIVING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON GWB, I SUDDENLY FELT LIKE THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR HAD GOTTEN STUCK ON SOMETHING & THEN THE CAR CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP, LEADING TO THE CAR BEHIND ME HITTING MY BUMPER. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS MY FRONT DIFFERENTIAL & WAS NOT COVERED IN MY VEHICLE'S YEAR RECALL. *TR

1. While driving 2006 Land Rover Range Rover HSE (L322) , I stopped to groceries and to my surprise The Key would not turn in the ignition . 2. The steering wheel was locked. I checked online and appears this is a major problem for 2006 and 2007 Range Rover HSE per the Range Rover Forum that has to be addressed by Range Rover 3. Danger is the occurrence of such an event on the Highway
Fuel pump power and fuel level sensor electrical connector has undersized pins and sockets in the 4.4L and 4.2L engine equiped full sized range rovers from 06-09. The connector located on top of the fuel filter assembly on top of the fuel tank overheats and melts the plastic surrounding the copper feedthru pins connecting the fuel pump to the fuel pump relay. The pins passing thru the male portion of the connector on the fuel filter appears to be undersized. I've had three fuel pumps fail, at least one of which required the entire connector to be replaced on the vehicle (by me).
The contact owns a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover equipped with Hankook tires, Tire Line: Ventus S1 Nobel 2, Tire Size: 255/50/R20, DOT Number: 5MNC1AH. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the tires began to make a loud thumping noise. The contact stated that the steering wheel was also vibrating. The vehicle was taken to a tire repair facility and the contact was informed that the tires were dry rotted. The tires were purchased in 2017. The tires were replacement tires and had not been replaced. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
A LOT WRONG WITH VEHICLE I COULD ONLY CHOOSE 3 PROBLEMS WHICH IS DIFFICULT.
WHEN I BACKED MY RANGE ROVER UP OVER THE SIDE CURB IT LOCKED MY STEERING. I CAN ONLY TURN MY WHEEL WHEN THE TRUCK IS DRIVING IT HAS NO POWER WHILE IN JUST SITTING AT A LIGHT. MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO PARK MY TRUCK BECAUSE I CAN'T TURN THE WHEEL WITHOUT GAS TO THE TRUCK. I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE TO SEE IF IT WAS POWER STEERING BUT NO NOISE THE FLUIDS ARE IN THERE.
THE STEERING COLUMN MOBIZATION HAVE GONE ON IT. AND THE RANGE ROVER DEALERSHIP WANT TO FIX IT FOR 8700.00 I CAN'T AFFORD IT AND I'M AN ELDERL. PLEASE FIND OUT IS THERE A RECALL.
FRONT DASH HAS CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS. I AM SO AFRAID THAT THIS WILL AFFECT THE AIRBAG AND CAUSE IT TO DEPLOY PREMATURELY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT CONTINUOUSLY RUN WITHOUT ALL OF THE INDICATORS ILLUMINATING IN ERROR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
I WAS TOLD BY THE LAND ROVER SERVICE MANAGER SHON TORRES THAT THE STEERING COLUMNS ON VEHICLES OF THIS MANUFACTURING YEAR AND THE YEARS SURROUNDING IT HAVE OFTEN HAD ISSUES WHERE THE STEERING COLUMN WILL STOP RECOGNIZING THE KEY. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT MANY TIMES NO KEYS CAN BE REPROGRAMMED TO THE STEERING COLUMN AND AT THAT POINT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW DYEING COLUMN WHICH COSTS AROUND $10,000. THIS HAS HAPPENS ONCE SO FAR AND I HAD TO PURCHASE 2 NEW KEYS AND HAVE THEM PROGRAMMED. ONE DAY I DROVE THE CAR TO WORK AND WHEN I FOR IN IT TO LEAVE FOR THE NIGHT, IT WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING WHEN I TURNED THE KEY, NOT EVEN WOULD THE LIGHTS COME ON. #2 IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITHIN THE SAME MODELS THAT THERE IS A LEAK THAT HAPPENS SOMEWHERE NEAR THE REAR WIRING WHEN IT RAINS IT CAUSES THERE TO BE A FAULTY CONNECTION TO THE RADIO/NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND CAUSES A SHORT IN THE ABILITY OF THE RADIO TO STAY ON AND PERFORM CORRECTLY. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAPPENS OFTEN. SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES IN 15 MINUTES TIME AND SOMETIMES IT WILL HAPPEN ONCE IN 15 MINUTES, BUT IT ALWAYS HAPPENS. THE RADIO WILL CUTOFF AND SOMETIMES AFTER A FEW MINUTES COME BACK ON, OR IT WILL STAY OFF. IF YOU TURN THE RADIO OFF MANUALLY IT WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN POP BACK ON. THE DVD PLAYER DOES THE SAME.

Corrosion of the airbag connector may increase electrical resistance, which could prevent the driver airbag from deploying correctly in the event of an accident. This increases the risk of injury. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The driver airbag connectors in the steering column has shown that they may corrode. Over time, the airbag might not deploy as intended and therefore could increase the risk of injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The propellant in the driver and front passenger airbags may deteriorate over time. If the airbags deploy, it could result in fragments from the inflator injuring the vehicle's occupants. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The idler pulley on the front-end accessory drive (FEAD) belt may over-rotate due to high torsional stress and collide with the oil temperature and pressure sensor. This could damage the sensor and cause an oil leak, creating a slipping hazard for other road users, particularly two-wheeled vehicles. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
A defective module has been installed in the high-voltage battery, which may cause it to overheat and lead to a fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The middle seatbelt buckle in the second row of seats may have been incorrectly produced. An incorrectly positioned inner cable can lock the belt tongue and prevent correct locking. In the event of an accident, an improperly locked seatbelt buckle can increase the risk of injury. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Cathode damage during production may accelerate battery ageing and increase the risk of fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The passenger airbag module may tear during deployment as a result of improper folding during the airbag assembly process. In case the airbag is torn, it will not provide adequate protection to occupants and may increase the risk of injury in a crash. Hot gases could escape, causing burns to occupants. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Due to brackets connecting the engine-mounted oil cooler lines not being properly screwed into their threads, the oil cooler hose may become loose or detach, causing engine oil to spill onto the road. This creates slippery sections, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries, especially for two-wheeled vehicles. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The rear cradle may have cracks that can cause the rear wheels to partially detach, creating a risk of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
The plastic used for the oil filter housing in some petrol and diesel engines can crack over time. This can cause oil leaks onto the engine and road. Leaked oil can ignite upon contact with hot engine parts, increasing the risk of a fire. Moreover, it can also create slippery sections, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries especially for two-wheeled vehicles. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
