THE PROBLEM THAT CREATED THE UNSAFE CONDITION WAS UNINTENTIONAL SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE TO COMPLETE THE STOP WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE 2008 ODYSSEY WAS GOING VERY SLOW (JUST MADE A RIGHT TURN ON ROAD) IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, FOR THE HOUSE WE WERE VISITING WAS ON THE CORNER. WE THEN TURNED ANOTHER RIGHT TO PARK IN A PRIVATE PARKING AREA. IMMEDIATELY BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD WHILE THE ENGINE WAS REVVING AND SOUNDING VERY LOUD. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY DOWN, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES (LURCHES) FORWARD WHILE IMMEDIATELY GOING OVER A RAILROAD TIE (ABOUT 7 INCHES HIGH), GOING UP IN THE AIR (ALMOST ROLLING), THEN STRIKING A TREE WHICH SLOWED THE CAR DOWN. DESPITE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE, THE ODYSSEY KEPT REVVING AND THRUSTING FORWARD EVEN AFTER STRIKING THE TREE. THE IMPACT OF HITTING THE TREE WAS VERY HARD, AND THE ACCIDENT LEFT 2 OF THE PASSENGERS WITH SEATBELT IMPRINTS ON THE NECK AND CHEST. THE MINIVAN FINALLY STOPPED BECAUSE THE DAMAGE WAS SEVERE, INCLUDING A BURNING SMELL AND FLUID LEAKAGE FROM THE CAR. WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND GOT WORD THAT OUR ODYSSEY WAS TOTALED. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

YESTERDAY 1/19/11 THE SAME THING HAPPENED UPON STEPPING ON THE BRAKE TO STOP FOR A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, THE CAR ACCELERATED AGAIN TO WHERE I COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE AND HIT THE CAR INFRONT OF ME. My doors wasn't latching or shutting all the way. The power doors and windows wouldn't work sometimes. Then the back sliding door fell off. Engaged the automatic door and damaged the side of the van. I seen there were recalls but none for my Vin I don't know what to do.

The door ended up falling to the ground onto the contact's foot causing permanent injury. Medical attention was needed. The dealer was contacted who stated they were no recall on the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated they noticed that the door was attached by two small arms on the front end of the door (none on the rear end of the door) and a wheel with the track. There was nothing else there to hold the door. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case regarding the matter. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module contains incorrect deployment parameters for the side and head airbags, which could cause them to deploy inadvertently when the vehicle experiences road impacts. This increases the risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Due to a faulty circuit board in the passenger seat weight sensor, the passenger seat’s occupant detection system may identify a Steering Wheel Sensor (SWS) error and the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) warning light could switch on. This can cause a faulty triggering of the airbags, creating a risk of injuries for a child occupying the passenger seat. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
Due to improper manufacturing of the belt buckle channel, the front seat belt buckles (driver or passenger side) may not lock properly. This could affect the restraining capacity of the safety-belt and increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
