THE DOOR HANDLES ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE HAVE BECOME SO SHARP THAT WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR THEY CUT YOUR FINGER. BOTH MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD OUR FINGERS CUT FROM SLIGHT TO VERY BLOODY. THIS APPEARS THAT IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT GM REFUSES TO DEAL WITH. *TR
THE CHROME DOOR HANDLES IN THE SUV ARE PEALING AND THE MATERIAL WILL CUT YOUR HAND. BOTH MY WIFE AND I HAVE RECEIVED CUTS FROM THESE HANDLES. FROM READING ON LINE IT APPEARS THAT THIS A PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF THE GM SUVS'. I READ THAT YOU STARTED LOOKING INTO THIS BUT I CAN'T FIND WHERE THERE WAS ANY CONCLUSION. THE DEALER IS HAPPY TO REPLACE THESE IF I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR IT, BUT WILL NO GUARANTEE THAT THE NEW ONES WON'T HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
OUR 2009 GMC YUKON DENALI WAS TOTALED IN A CRASH. THE BATTERY WAS DESTROYED ,CUTTING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS,WHICH AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN IN DRIVE, WERE LOCKED, AND IN HER CONFUSION COULD NOT EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT WAS ALSO USELESS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BACKUP BATTERY IN A LESS VULNERABLE LOCATION. *TR
THE REAR LIFT GATE WILL SLAM SHUT ONCE OPEN BECAUSE THE HYDROLICS FAIL.
THE CHROME PLATING ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE IS SEPARATING FROM THE DOOR HANDLE AT THE TOP OF THE HANDLE, AND IS EXTREMELY SHARP (CAUSED CUT TO FINGERS ON RIGHT HAND); AFTER THIS HAS HAPPENED I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR POSSIBLE GM ACTION TO RESOLVE AND FOUNDS REPORTS ONLINE OF THIS BEING REPORTED FOR 2007 AND 2008 GM VEHICLES (ALTHOUGH MINE IS A 2009). INVESTIGATION WAS SUPPOSEDLY STARTED BUT CANNOT FIND RESULTS OF THIS. SPOKE TO MY GMC DEALER AND THEY HAD NO ADVISOR'S TO RECTIFY AND WOULD DO SO AT COST. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC BUT DUE TO THE DELAY OF A PART FROM THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE REPAIR WOULD BE DELAYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO ONE COULD ANSWER HER QUESTIONS TRANSFERRING HER FROM ONE DEPARTMENT TO ANOTHER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COMPLETELY REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ENTERING A TURN, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO OFF ROAD, AND DAMAGE THE LOWER FRONT PORTION OF THE BUMPER (MINOR). MY WIFE IS UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, EVEN WE WE HAVE IT REPAIRED. THERE WAS NO WARNING, UNTIL AFTER THE FAILURE, WHEN THE ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM, STATED "SERVICE POWER STEERING".
I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK ON A LEVEL SURFACE, I LEFT THE YUKON RUNNING AND I GOT OUT AND WALKED MY GREAT NIECE TO A BUILDING ABOUT 30 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE.. I THEN TURNED TO SEE THE YUKON BACKING UP ON THIS FLAT SURFACE, I RAN TO TRY AND CATCH IT BUT IT HIT A BUILDING AND THEN CAME FORWARD AT ME. I HAD TO JUMP OUT OF IT'S WAY AND THEN CHASE IT DOWN. WHEN I JUMPED IN AND HIT THE BRAKE I THEN NOTICED IT WAS IN M1. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL GMC DEALER WHO CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION BUT REPORTED FINDING NOTHING. I AM NOW AFRAID OF THIS CAR. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN IT WILL VIBRATE OR JUMP FROM PARK TO REVERSE AGAIN. THIS NEEDS CHECKING INTO. THIS YUKON WENT BOTH BACKWARD & FORWARD. *TR
MANUFACTURER SAFETY RECALL ISSUED -NHTSA #21V050 - TRANSPORT CANADA #20591 - RECALL # N212328760 FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG TAKATA INFLATOR-PRIORITY GROUP 6
My 2009 GMC Yukon Denali has a major safety issue. The hard plastic dash has multiple cracks, which is a huge safety concern in the case of an accident. The dash could explode inside the vehicle causing injury to me and/or other passengers. The dashboard could also interfere with the operation of the airbag due to multiple cracks being around the passenger air bag. I have reached out to GM customer service twice and both time they advised me that a manager will reach out to me but they never did. I’m hoping this report will make GM accountable for the vehicle defect they made and pay to fix/repair the dash.
Cracks in dashboard including crack up to passenger airbag. Truck has been garage kept since new,
I was driving around 55 miles per hour and applied the brakes. I had little to no brakes and had to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Luckily there was no car in front of me or a collision would have occurred. I had multiple ABS light, service stabiltrak, service brake lights engage. It happened once more going to the next light. I pulled over and removed the negative battery cable and waited 2 minutes and re attached it. The brakes feel spongy. I have researched the forums for the electric hybrid models and there were multiple other vehicles with the same symptoms as mine. Dealership says there are no recalls for the vehicle, even though multiple other hybrids are having the same issues and wanted to charge me $135 diagnostic fee to check the brake system. This is a safety hazard and should be investigated by GMC
Since I've owned the hybrid yukon, I've had nothing but issues. GMC only made a limited amount of the hybrid models but due to the issues discontinued manufacturing them. why weren't the vehicles taken off the market? started with the jolting from a stop, to not wanting to go into reverse, check engine light, to hybrid battery not shifting into gear, last power steering locked while driving then not starting at all. had sat at the dealership for 4 weeks now sitting at another hybrid shop awaiting for the inverter converter control to be delivered and put in. have spent thousands in the last 2 months repairing trying to figure out issues.

Excessive wear and tear of the transmission control module may cause a loss of pressure and damage a control valve. This could result in harsh gear changes and cause the rear wheels to lock, increasing the risk of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
