THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, UPON AVOIDING A COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE SATURN SKY I WAS IN HAD COLLIDED WITH THE CONCRETE CENTER DIVIDER AND BECAME AIRBORN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN SKY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IMMEDIATELY, WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, WHICH RESULTED IN REDUCED VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH CAUTION AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF COOLANT INSIDE THE VEHICLE FOLLOWING THE REPAIR AND THE TRACTION CONTROL FAILED TO OPERATE. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION, THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ON SIX SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,500.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY ON AN INCLINE, EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS SET. MY CAR ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND OFF AN EMBANKMENT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS STILL UP WHEN IT STOPPED. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS.
I WAS TRAVELING AT 20 MPH ABOUT 25 MINUTES INTO MORNING COMMUTE WHEN THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME IMPACTED ANOTHER VEHICLE. AT THIS TIME I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO THE FLOOR ALONG WITH MY CLUTCH. I FELT MY ABS WORKING, BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP IN THE APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET OF SPACE AND I IMPACTED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. INSPECTION AND DAMAGE REPORT TO FOLLOW. I FELT THE CAR SHOULD HAVE STOPPED WITH ROOM TO SPARE GIVEN THE DISTANCE AND PRESSURE APPLIED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION. *TR
BRAKES FAIL TO WORK ON START-UP. FOR THE FIRST 60 SECONDS IT TAKES EXCESSIVE PRESSURE TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS AND ONE SMALL ACCIDENT WHERE I COULD NOT STOP FOR A BICYCLE IN MY DRIVE WAY. JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUS INJURED. SATURN CLAIMS IT IS NORMAL FOR THE CAR BRAKES NOT TO WORK PROPERLY FOR THE FIRST MINUTE. *TR
NO BRAKES UPON STARTUP! RAN OVER MY DOG BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS DEFECT MADE IT TO MARKET. *TR
BRAKES DO NOT WORK FULLY UPON STARTUP OF VEHICLE. HIT TREE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE SIDE OF MY CAR BECAUSE THE CAR DID NOT STOP WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. *TR
the passenger seat air bag sensor was recalled. I took the car to dealer and they said they fixed the recall. now 3 years later, if a passenger sits in the seat the light comes on saying air bag sensor is ON one second later the light says the air bag sensor is OFF and the red air bag light in the dash comes on. -Should GM be responsible to repair it again at no charge ?

The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V061000 (Air Bags); however, the vehicle had experienced the failure stated in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Had recall# 17036 performed for PPS system and dealer could not clear fault codes after adding tape to the PPS seat. Why will the dealer not complete the recall by making sure the faults are no longer present. 1- 004A-00 Communication fault 2- 0033-00 Internal electronic performance 1 3- 0031-00 Internal electronic performance 2 4- 0039-00 Internal electronic performance 1 5- 0034-00 Internal electronic performance 1 6- 0059-00 Preload failure region 1
Saturn SKY - Passenger presence system (PPS) Knapp Chevy claimed to have fixed Completed: 2020-10-31, but warning lights appeared and took the car in to check. Now, this issue is not covered and requires a 1200 dollar charge, which should be covered in the recall.
When pressing on the brakes in reverse, they fail to stop the resistance is very hard, like stepping on a brick, and it does nothing to slow the vehicle. I had to throw the emergency brake on and put the car in gear in order to stop it from rolling backwards.
