I BOUGHT A 07 NISSAN TITAN IN JULY OF 07. RIGHT AWAY I FOUND THAT THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WERE NOT WORKING. INCLUDING THE AIR BAG. I HAD IT FIXED RIGHT AWAY. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN DEC 08. I ONCE AGAIN HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED. I WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION ON JAN, 23 AT 8:30 PM. I WAS GOING 45 MILES AN HOUR AND HIT A CEMENT AND MEDAL SIGNAL POLE. THE IMPACT WAS IN THE CENTER ON THE TRUCK. MY SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK AND MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WHEN YOU BUY A NEW CAR THE SAFETY IS PART OF WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR AND WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK IT IS VERY SCARY. *TR
TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MPH, EARLY MORNING, DRY CONDITIONS. I SET THE CRUISE CONTROL, BECAUSE I WAS HAVING SEVERE STOMACH PAIN. I LEANED MY HEAD BACK AND NEXT THING I MUST HAVE PASSED OUT. I AWOKE AFTER STRIKING A TELEPHONE POLE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STREET. THE IMPACT WAS DEAD CENTER. THE LICENSE PLATE IS THE EXACT SHAPE OF THE POLE, INFACT THE SENSOR IS DIRECTLY BEHIND AND UNDER THE BUMPER FROM THE PLATE. THE SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK AND THE AIRBAGS NEITHER ONE DIDN'T DEPLOY. THE CRUISE WAS SET, AND THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS, SO I MUST HAVE HIT THE POLE GOING 30-35 MPH. THE POLE IS APPROXIMATELY 3' FROM ROAD. I SUFFERED CHEST AND BACK INJURIES, AND STILL RECOVERING. LUCKILY I'M STILL ALIVE! THE INTERIOR LOOKS PERFECT LIKE IT NEVER WAS WRECKED, ON THE OTHER HAND THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED. THE BUMPERS ENDS WHERE LITERALLY WRAPPED AROUND THE POLE. MY 2007 NISSAN TITAN WAS PARKED FOR 2 DAYS , AT 5:30 AM AUGUST 12, 2014 I HEARD THE TRUCKS HORN SOUNDING OFF WITH JUST A CONSTANT BLAST . I WENT OUT TO INVESTIGATE AN NOTICE THE WIND SHIELD SHATTERED AND MY KEYLESS REMOTE WOULD NOT TURN OFF THE HORN . I OPENED DRIVE SIDE DOOR , BLACK DENSE SMOKE FILLED THE CAB AND THE CENTER OF THE DASH HAD A LARGE HOLE AND THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE THE CAB WAS INTENSE , BUT NO FLAMES .I SPRAYED DOWN THE AREA WITH MY EXTINGUISHER ,HORN STILL ENGAGED I DISCONNECTED BATTERY.ITEMS THAT WERE STORED IN A TOP COMPARTMENT OF THE DASH , ENDED UP ON THE DRIVERSIDE SEAT TELLS ME THAT SOME KIND OF EXPLOSION OCCURRED , NOT JUST ELECTRICAL AND THE ITEMS WERE NOT BURNT . The rear differential and axle has an inevitable failure with no warning lights or much anything else besides some possible noises! The vent designs are terrible it causes overheating and internal turmoil over time seals start leaking, bearings and internal gears Get weak from over hot /cold repeated cycles allowing moisture to build and accumulate in the 3rd member where it’s supposed to be completely sealed and dry other then gear oil to lube and maintain proper function. My personal and current experience is I’m without my truck, missing work and very . Very thankful that it didn’t lock up on the highway/freeway that I drive too and from work about 85 miles daily! The best part is there’s no fast cost efficient resolution! the differential open carrier with spider gears held in place by a shaft pin and tiny 8 mm bolt that broke causing the pin to slide back and forth (pinball effect) into the ring /pinion, side gears, spider gears untill it either gets jammed in the gears and instantly locks up or slowly fractures away untill gears held by nothing, collide causing catastrophic failure! I Happened to notice the inside of rear wheel wet because when I was exiting the highway I heard a faint sound almost like a bolt or rock or something hit underneath the truck so I took a glance at everything and noticed that wheel grease soaked and a little fluid on the bottom of transfer case.. long story short I drove it approximately 1 mile to a shop there it still sits needing complete different axle and differential or a whole new carrier and all bearings/seals spacers possibly axle shaft don’t know yet and dealership can not get any parts for it!! The parts are obsolete! None! Don’t sell them, don’t make them….. they recommend and can only replace whole unit around 3-5k thousands of dollars I wish I had!! All of the research I’ve done tells me this is a HUGE problem! Theres hundreds of thousands of people that this has happened too! Asking why isn’t there a recall??!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT STARTING FLUID WAS SPRAYED UNTO THE AIR FILTER AND THE VEHICLE STARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WITH AN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE OF 50 DEGREES OR HIGHER, THE VEHICLE STARTED MORE READILY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF ELK GROVE LOCATED AT (8590 LAGUNA GROVE DR, ELK GROVE, CA 95757, 916-245-8767) FOR RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIRS COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE THE PARTS TO BE REPLACED WERE NOT ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS FAILED UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK. APPARENTLY, THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS. I WAS DRIVING 50MPH WHEN THE REAR END MADE A POP AND I LOST THE ABILITY TO DRIVE.

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2009 TITAN, ARMADA, AND INFINITI QX56 VEHICLES. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE MAY INACCURATELY DISPLAY THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, TYPICALLY ABOUT ONE QUARTER TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY.
Abhilfe: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL SENDER UNIT INSIDE THE FUEL TANK WITH A NEW IMPROVED SENDER CARD. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 22, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN FRONT AND REAR LOWER LINKS, P/NOS. 54501ZQ00A, 54500ZQ00A, 551A1ZQ00A, 551A0ZQ00A , 54501EA00A, 54500EA00A, 551A1EA500, 551A0EA500, 54501ZR00A, AND 54500ZR00A, SOLD BETWEEN NOVEMBER 25, 2009 AND MAY 14, 2010 AS REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MODEL YEAR 2004 THROUGH 2010 TITAN, ARMADA, AND QX56, AND MODEL YEARS 2005 THROUGH 2010 FRONTIER, XTERRA, AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE LOWER CONTROL LINK ASSEMBLY HAS TWO CYLINDRICAL COLLARS FORMING THE INBOARD ATTACHMENT POINTS TO THE CHASSIS. DUE TO AN IMPROPER WELDING PROCESS SOME COLLARS MAY CONTAIN WELDS THAT DO NOT MEET STRENGTH SPECIFICATIONS.
