i WAS AT A CHARGING PLACE EVGO I WAS NOT PLUGED IN AND CHARGED TO 80% THE CAR WAS NOT ON AND I WAS IN FRONT SEAT TALKING TO A FRIEND WE HEARD A BIG POP AND THEN SAW WHITE/ GRAY SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR WHERE THE BATTERY IS WE GOT OUT AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPT THEY ARRIVED AND THE SMOKE HAD STOPPED AND THE FIRE MEN WERE LOOKING AT THE CAR WHEN ANOTHER POP WAS HEARD AND THEY RAN FROM THE CAR AND LOTS OF SMOKE STARTED AGAIN AFTER ABOUT A MIN THERE WAS AN SMALL EXPLOSION AND THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE THE FIRE ENGULFED THE CAR AND HAD MANY SMALL EXPLOSIONS THE CAR BURNED FOR HOURS AND WHEN IT STOPPED THERE WAS ONLY METEL FRAMING IT WAS ALL GONE
I was exiting a parking spot and I had my foot on the brake to start the vehicle and again to put the car in reverse. I backed out of my parking spot and turned 90 degrees to exit the parking lot. As I pushed down on the brake to stop and shift to drive, the pad that covers the brake pedal fell off, causing my foot to slip and hit the accelerator. I then struck another vehicle with the back of my car. In looking at the car after the accident, the pad that normally covers the brake pedal was on the floor of the car, between the brake and accelerator. At the body shop, one of the people said there is supposed to be a clip that holds the pad, but it was either broken or missing on my car.
Battery charger failed following H570 safety recall while solution is being worked on for recall H572. Car has been at dealership for more than 50 days now with dealership not able to repair the defective part mainly due to the manufacturer being unable to provide a working part; first two replacement parts have been delivered damaged and third part is nowhere to be found although it was promised to be delovered on 9/10/26
we are still waiting for a fix for the battery problem in this car. How long do we have to wait. This problem has already caused a safety concern, as well lost of function (less battery charge),accelerated depreciated value of ownership. How long do we have to wait?

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
I am filing this complaint regarding my 2020 Jaguar I-PACE and recall H572 involving the high-voltage battery pack. My vehicle has approximately 90,000 miles. I received information regarding recall H572, which involves a potential thermal issue with the high-voltage battery pack that can create a safety risk. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle because of the battery issue and the potential for a high-voltage battery failure or thermal event. I have relied on this vehicle for transportation, and the recall has significantly affected my confidence in the vehicle and its safety. I have contacted Jaguar Land Rover regarding this issue and have attempted to have the matter resolved. I believe NHTSA should be aware of my experience because this involves a high-voltage EV battery and a potential fire/thermal safety concern. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and review whether Jaguar Land Rover's handling of this recall adequately addresses the safety risk to owners of affected I-PACE vehicles. I can provide recall information, repair records, communications with Jaguar Land Rover, and other documentation upon request.

The contact was informed that the battery was limited to 75 percent charge. The contact was informed that a diagnostic test for the illuminated warning light was not provided because the warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact was informed that the failure was not associated with the recall repair. The contact was advised that additional diagnostic testing was needed and would be an out-of-pocket expense. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V067000 (Electrical System), and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the high voltage fault warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was asked to pay for the diagnostic test and declined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by phone. The contact had filed two complaints. The failure mileage was approximately 35,856.
I own a 2020 Jaguar I-PACE with approximately 102,000 miles that is currently at a Jaguar dealership following a sudden failure to accept Level 2 charging in mid-June 2026 and has been there since. The vehicle initially showed fault code P0AA6-00, and the dealership subsequently replaced the 12V battery and charging module (440123457); after communication with the vehicle's systems was restored, they reported that 31 of the 36 modules in the high-voltage battery were failed or failing and that the entire battery requires replacement. My concern is that this may be related to the H570/H572 high-voltage battery recalls. My vehicle had not yet received the recall-related charging limitation software, and it had previously experienced a significant battery/electrical issue in June 2025 involving Restricted Performance, an isolation fault, and BECM reconfiguration/software that apparently resolved the issue at that time. The dealership is now attributing the 2026 failure to normal age-related battery degradation, but I find it difficult to reconcile that explanation with 31 of 36 modules reportedly failing simultaneously, particularly given the vehicle's prior isolation fault and the current recall's stated concerns involving internal battery faults, short circuits, and thermal overload. The dealership has told me they did not perform a thorough investigation specifically to determine whether the current battery failure is related to H570/H572, yet they have concluded that it is unrelated. I am requesting that NHTSA review this situation because I am concerned that a potentially serious high-voltage battery defect covered by the recall may have caused or contributed to this failure. In the meantime, they have quoted me 50,000 to perform a full HV battery replacement, as a potential option/resolution.
This vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V067 (JLR campaign H570/H571/H572) for high-voltage battery thermal overload risk. The recall remedy instructs owners to park and charge the vehicle outside and away from structures. My property does not allow for this: the vehicle must be garaged in a bay directly beneath an occupied room, adjacent to two other vehicles, and near the home's main electrical panel and gas furnace. There is no alternative outdoor charging location on my property. I am currently unable to comply with the manufacturer's own safety instruction for this recall, which leaves me either storing a known fire-risk vehicle against manufacturer guidance or unable to use the vehicle at all. The permanent remedy for this recall population is still under development as of this filing. I have submitted a written demand to JLR for repurchase and have received no substantive response as of August 4, 2026.

Abhilfe: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, charge outside, and limit their charge to a maximum of 90% until the recall repair is complete. As an interim repair, the battery software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update to limit the state of charge to 90%. The final remedy is currently under development. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed April 2, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.
