I WAS TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE I THEN PROCEEDED TO PARK MY CAR INTO A PARKING SPOT. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD. THE CAR ENDED UP HITTING THE BUILDING THAT WAS 2 FEET IN FRONT OF ME. THE CAR THEN REVERSED ON IT'S OWN AND CHARGED FORWARD TO HIT THE BUILDING AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME IT HIT THE BUILDING THE AIR BAG WENT OFF. I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE MANUALLY TO PREVENT IT FROM HITTING THE BUILDING. WHEN I DID THIS , THE CAR ACCELERATED BACKWARDS .
My 2017 Honda Civic just had a known BCM issue and many with the same models year from 2016-2018 experience the same failures. Honda should have a recall because it's where the car unknowingly drains the battery and the engine sits in idle/accessory mode that is damaging to other parts that the customer have to expense for.

There are many of us, but we haven't been able to connect the dots to see how many have truly been affected. I nearly suffered heatstroke driving this car. Was dizzy the night of at home, with outdoor temperatures reaching triple digits (Fahrenheit).

MY SON AND I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2017 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN ON DEC 3RD FROM HONDA OF LISLE IL. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH 22,100 MILES. MY SON WAS DRIVING ON DEC 10TH AND STOPPED FOR GAS FOR THE FIRST TIME. HE GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND STARTED IT UP. HE NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HE IMMEDIATELY CAM HOME AND CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE NEXT DAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AT THE DEALER. AS HE WAS DRIVING TO THE DEALER HE GOT ABOUT 1 MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN BLACK SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE CAR FROZE UP AND IMMEDIATELY BURST INTO FLAMES. THANKFULLY IT HAPPENED ON A SIDE STREET AS HE WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A LAW THAT THEY NEED TO TAKE IT BACK WITHIN 15 DAYS OR LESS THAN 500 MILES, THEY ESSENTIALLY TOLD ME IT WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM AND I NEEDED TO GET MY INSURANCE INVOLVED. A FIRE INSPECTOR HIRED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY LOOKED AT THE TOTALED VEHICLE AND SUSPECTED THE FIRE STARTED NEAR THE BATTERY. MY INSURANCE COMPANY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A FIRE ENGINEER INSPECT IT AT A COST OF $5,000 THEREFORE THEY WILL NOT PURSUE FURTHER. Driver and front passenger seatback pads sold as replacement service parts were made without slit openings for the seat-mounted side air bags.
